He's been the dominant force in Champ Car for 4 seasons now. How do you think he'll fare in F1 vs the likes of Alonso and Hamilton? Will his driving skill improve Toro Rosso? Or is the machinery disparity so great in F1 that he'll never overcome it to get close to the McClarens and Ferraris?

I think Bourdais is a very good driver. What will limit him--and he may find this very frustrating--is the capabilities of the Toro Rosso car.

While I have no doubt we will see some very big improvements from STR (and RBR) next season, I also firmly expect the team will do no better than to maybe eke out 7th or 8th in the Constructor's standings.

That said, they will improve. Any team that has had Adrian Newey involved has done well. Don't expect the Red Bull or Toro Rosso teams to go winning races or grabbing regular podiums though.

I expect that STR is a foot in the door for Bourdais and if he stays with it, we will see that he's moved on to perhaps a better drive in a couple of years.

I agree you are both right. Bourdais has been great in CART but he is with one of the dominant teams. Toro Rosso with Tonio and Speed have been at the back of the field the whole season. I think Tonio has finished one race but is that due to driver error or car performance? Only by fluke reasons will he be challenging McLaren, Ferrari or BMW.

I'm a fan of F1 racing and have been to a few European races, being female and from the US, I have to say it will definitely be exciting to see how he does.

If he's racing for Toro Rosso next year he will be okay, not great but hopefully he can pull something off with that team because Scott Speed wasn't cutting it and I wish Vitantonio could do something with that car, But he'll probably be just like Montoya, he was a strong force in Kart then went to F1 and he only won like 1 or 2 races and now look where he is washed out in NASCAR, and Montoya even had BMW and McLaren.

His driving skills may bring them up a few notches but I really don't think that Toro Rosso will be a strong team even with him. You hit it on the head-the disparity between the teams is too great.

Not good! If lucky he will be top 10 in points! Face the facts he isn't driving for a top team. The great Schumacher couldn't compete in that car! Both Ferrari, McLaren, BMW, Benetton and likely the Toyota should have two drivers in front of Bourdais! So 11th is the highest I see him!

The vast differences in the cars makes comparing the drivers nearly impossible! It's a reason the Nascar crowd can't appreciate F1 and the other way around!

Bourdais is one of my fave drivers so I hope he does really well. As for reality though, I think that he will definately outshine Vettell and will probably score some points, helping Torro Rosso move up to midfield contenders. I doubt he will stay at Torro Rosso for that long though, because if he does really good then I could see a lot of teams snapping him up, if he does ok or mediocre then I see him staying at Torro Rosso for a while. Should be interesting.

The times he has tested for them he has been relatively quick for someone that has not had that much time in an F1 car. But I'm not sure if he alone is going to be able to improve STR's standings. The car itself is just not up to par and the management team seems to have an unfriendly attitude towards it's drivers.

A few months ago I would have liked to see Bourdais move into the Red Bull seat that Coulthard has now. It's clear to see that Dc has lost the fire and is very unhappy with his ride and it's lack of reliablility. But then he signs a contract with them for next year so things must not be all that bad.

I'm my wildest dream, he will mop the floor with vitantonio,
and scott speed will go to champ car and win the championship, and hopefully we will get a chance to see peter windsor ask berger how he feels with speeds success

i like bourdais and wish him well but now i want toro rosso's future to be a one way trip to the gutter,

the present TR is the same spec and same chassis to the purple Bull from Australia, so he won't be in a position to truly use the excuse of a undesirable motor vehicle, can he? ok, so it relatively is not state-of-the-artwork, inspite of the shown fact that it relatively is stressful to believe that the rigidity Indias have greater so dramatically as to be greater effective now than RB have been on the commencing up of the year! Bourdais has been a unhappiness for various the races in his F1 profession, and on a similar time as i'm shocked RB have have been given rid of him now quite than on the top of the season, i won't be in a position to declare that he deserved to maintain his seat on his sort this year. Brendon Hartley might desire to be kicking himself, purely giving up the third drivers seat a pair of weeks in the past to get some greater race journey. Alguersuari feels like the bookies familiar for the journey now. EDIT... i'm conscious that the RB team is Austrian, thankyou. As my sentence shape became doubtful to you: the present TR is the version of the RB from THE AUSTRALIAN GP...I purely wrote "from Australia" as i concept human beings in here may be conscious of that actuality (and what i became conversing approximately when I suggested "Australia", like i might have suggested "Monaco") and that i became purely conserving the placement, no longer uncovering some thing new. a sprint edit to be conscious of you have considered this may be plenty favored, as might a acceptance that my factors have been additionally sturdy once to procure around the miscomprehension. EDIT thank you for taking the time to respond!
