"While some might consider indulgences an outdated concept, great spiritual importance have been assigned to them by Benedict XVI and his predecessor, Pope John Paul II."

It has been going on since 1999 for sure, but it never truly went away. The Catholic Clergy have just kept very quite about it, because they are embarrased...until now.

But I am not sure If he was "god"? I have read that Jesus was no actually proclaimed to be the son of God untill Constantine I Declared it some time during his rule from 272 to 337 AD. Which would be 300 years latter. I have also heard that most of the Gosples were dated in the 2nd century. I know that a lot has to be taken on faith but would I be considerd Jewish If I just though Jesus was a prophet? Please help!

ok so im confused because i dont know if there is a god. I dont think there is sufficient proof tht there is one. But i am not athiest because its not like im saying THERE IS NO GOD. there could be a god but until i have visual proof then i just dont know. I do believe that i should behave and act sane and not do bad things. i think that if there is a god then he shouldntt want everyone to like praise him like crazy, just not do bad things. so what religion am i or am i not any religion. Do any of you believe in what i believe in?

I am Christian, but i recently read something written by Ben Stein commenting on the fact that being Jewish and from a long line of Jewish people he really doesnt mind when people say merry christmas to him or seeing christmas trees or santa's etc. because its about the spirit and the giving of the holiday season. What do you think? do you think we all share in the spirit of giving and good will during the holidays or should it be a battle of being Politically Correct.

It is hard to believe that Catholic Church has any credibility left.

i would first like to say my heart grieves for anyone who has not accepted Christ as thier savior, and i don't love you nearly as much as God loves you , so i can only imagine how he must feel...but to the ?, one day after your life here on earth is over and your at the Great White Throne Judgement before God, how will you feel knowing that just moments after you confess Jesus is Lord while on your knees with everyone else through history who denied God , that he will say to you" depart from me worker of iniquity i never knew you". it's sad because not only will you be separted from his presence, but you will still have to confess his Holyness even though you never believed it. how would this make you feel.

How pathetic can the Catholic Church be to ask people to give money to buy their way to heaven. How cheap and sleazy can a religion get. Even Cult leaders are more slick in their deceit than this.

Both atheists and believers have the same basic questions about why and how we came to exist, and what our ultimate destiny is.

My question for atheists is, how do you begin to answer these questions?

Fact and faith are different.
Fact is something already 100% proven to be right.
Faith is something you are not sure of 100% and it hasn't been proven yet.

It is a fact that I have five fingers.
I have faith that my mother will come back from a long journey.

If you Christians believe in God's existence 100% then it is already a fact isn't it?

You can't say that you have faith that you have a relationship with Jesus and He with you all the time 100%.

If you are 100% sure that you are not delusional then it is a fact not faith.

Possibilities and probabilities of something needs faith.
Certainties are facts.

If God is a certainty then you should call it fact not faith.

I hope I explained it clear enough for you to understand.
So what do you think?

To apparently save our souls?

Shouldn't you be praying for Atheists and all non-Christians more than Christians since you think we're going to hell?

Or don't you really care about us?

If the government says "no religion" but John over there believes in God, or a god/s, is he free? No, he isn't.

So doesn't freedom infact require religion? Not forced religion, I'm not saying to have a free country you have to have a official religion or anything, but you still need religions in order to have freedom, because one essential freedom is the freedom of religion, the right to think and believe however you see fit...

When I see children in pain and distress around the world I wonder why does God allow them to taste Hell on Earth first to be allowed to get peace and happiness in Heaven after. How can a supposedly JUST and LOVING creator be so insensitive towards the pains and miseries of its creation? What kind of God is that? A Devil?
