That man and woman lived in bliss until they discovered right and wrong on their own? Like, discovered that inflicting pain on others was wrong? I like religion, spirituality, folklore and stuff like that, and I'm not an atheist, but I don't see why everything has to be taken as a literal act of a higher power. Even people who believe in spirit and believe everything comes from a higher power know that some knowledge can only be gained through physical experience.
Couldn't the story of the Garden of Eden be an embellishment on mundane human experience?
Thank you to the person who posted the question about the Garden of Eden a few minutes ago. That inspired my brain. :)

The bible does not speak of dating only courtship in the context of preparing for marriage. How then would someone distinguish courtship from dating? What is the difference? And if in fact, courtship or dating (pending on how you define each) is reserved for the preparation of marriage, then should some not ready for marriage be dating? This is just a converstion I was having with my brother and decided to get others input. Thanks in advance for your answers. God Bless!

Not the whole truth, but do you think each religion provides at least a little bit of the truth here and there? After all, from what I've heard, many religions teach the same things, and have a generally well-known miracle-maker and prophet. Was the Bible not the only book with a savior?

There is no HARD proof that he is real. He could just be something that someone made up centures ago. Why would you put all your faith on a book? And what do you say to evolution? Where in the bible does it mention anything about dinosaurs? There weren't humans during the thoracic age, so how could god have made humans on the 6th day? That would mean hey would've lived the same time as the dinosaurs? AND, if the frst two humans were adam and eve, and they were the ONLY humans that would mean we are all related?....so how is it that nowadays when supposedly closely related couples have children, their children are more likely to be disabled. If Adam and Eve had kids and their kids married each other, why weren't their kids disable/ disfigured?.....

I am in the process of trying to decide what i believe in ...and i need some clarity....so if you would please provide me with some enlighting answers, it would be much appreciated.

Once a resident of North West Province came to see me. He said many years ago he was travelling between two cities of his province and passed thorough triabal area. There in a roadside hotel he saw huge pitchers of water and asked about them. He was told that there is no river or water resource there. When the water in the pitchers came to an end, they pray God Almighty and He sends heavy downpour.
They fill their pitchers and start over again. He said: 'What if
there is no rain?". He replied that it was simply not possible. Then he went in an brought a very old person. He said you see
how old am I. I never remember in my life time an occasion when we prayed for rain and it did not come.

Such incidents now seldom take place and are rare. Have you ever come across such miracles during your lfe?

I have been receiving emails from a person who has called me a reprobate hypocrite and I will go to hell because I am a Catholic, why can't he accept who I am and what I believe in, isn't this my choice?

He said "You do not believe the bible. The bible goes against the catholic church.God says thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images. The catholics remove and break this commandment.God says not to call any man father on the earth.Jesus says do not pray in vain repetitions.1Timothy 4 says to abstain from meats and marriage are doctrines of devils. The catholic church is very anti bible. You are so wrong.the catholic church is a cult. You refuse to see the truth. The catholic cult and its bibles come from a corrupted manuscript with verses missing. You are in a false religion headed for hell". Where did he get his bible from?

Why can't people accept that I am a Catholic and proud to be one?

I hear a lot of people complaining about how Christian conservatives are trying to force their morals on others.

But all of us have morals and ethics that we feel society should enforce, like a ban on theft, assault, prostitution or slander.

So where do you draw the line? Which ethics are okay to impose on others and which ones are off-limits?

Is it necessary for a true-believer to convert or kill all heretics or infidels?
If so, isn't fervent religion a seriously dangerous psychiatric disorder?
