There is no HARD proof that he is real. He could just be something that someone made up centures ago. Why would you put all your faith on a book? And what do you say to evolution? Where in the bible does it mention anything about dinosaurs? There weren't humans during the thoracic age, so how could god have made humans on the 6th day? That would mean hey would've lived the same time as the dinosaurs? AND, if the frst two humans were adam and eve, and they were the ONLY humans that would mean we are all related?....so how is it that nowadays when supposedly closely related couples have children, their children are more likely to be disabled. If Adam and Eve had kids and their kids married each other, why weren't their kids disable/ disfigured?.....
I am in the process of trying to decide what i believe in ...and i need some clarity....so if you would please provide me with some enlighting answers, it would be much appreciated.

Why don't i speak to a pastor you ask? Well the pastors i know scare me away from asking. I feel as if i question them i am sinning to the right then a there, and i feel as if they just dissaprove of me completely. Plus the majority of my family does believe and for me to question....it wouldn't be good......but i am questioning, i want to find the way for myself, and me asking this on Yahoo answers is just b/c i'm interesting in the opinions of others that don't know me.

There is no hard proof for 90% of what you believe. Any statement that doesn't have "the law of" in front of its name is not backed by hard proof. You mention evolution. Do you actually think that modern evolutionary theory is supported by hard proof? The fallacy here is that you are inconsistently applying logical positivism. You want hard proof for the existence of God, but not for any of the thousands of assumptions that you make every day with no evidence whatsoever.
I do not put all of my faith in a book. That is true of some 10% to 15% of Christians. This fallacy is called a "hasty generalization." The tiny fraction of the religious population that you have met puts most of their faith in a book, so you assume that it must be true for everybody. That just isn't the case.
Like most Christians, I believe in evolution. See "hasty generalization" again. As for dinosaurs in the Bible, you are misunderstanding the nature of the Bible. In this case, a little study on modern academic theories about the Bible will do you some good. And like most Christians, I do not believe in a 6-day creation, or any other aspect of the creation account in Genesis.
Theistic evolution is the doctrine that God intervened at a few key areas of the evolutionary process, but otherwise left everything else to follow the natural course of cause and effect. Not only is that the dominant view among Christians, it is actually religious dogma (i.e. mandatory) for some 55% of modern Christians.

There are actually a number of questions buried in this.
- God: there is no reason to believe in any such thing. See ref. 1.
- Evolution: a proven fact. The proof is available to anyone who supplies an e-mail address. For details of the evolution of life on earth, see ref. 2.
- Earth's creation: the biblical account has no relation to the truth. See any textbook on astrophysics to learn how it happened.
- Reliance on a book: the epitome of foolishness. Any theory must be supported by competent evidence; the bible is supported by no evidence whatever. See ref. 3.

I don't.
You sound like me when I was 12. (No insult intended if you're older, I was precocious, that was 40 years ago). You're thinking rationally, and if you keep on this track you'll realize there is no intelligent reason to accept claims of gods, of any religion. (There are hundreds, not even counting the older/abandoned ones from Greek/Roman/Norse mythology.)
I began questining at ten, read the entire bible at twelve because I was told the answers were in it, was pretty much a solid atheist by 14. Despite hundreds of attempts to convince me since, no one has ever even come close to convincing me a god exists - in fact, most who have tried I have lost all respect for, their thought processes atre so obviously deficient. Evolution has far more evidence, is fasr more rational and scientific.
One of my first questions that stumped the church's clergy? "If Adam named all the animals, and there was no death in the garden of Eden, and all the animals we have today were there, what did he call anteaters, and whast did they eat?"
To this day, NO ONE has satisfactorily answered that question.

It is so sad for me to see that you don't believe. But God will save ALL in His time, and draw All to the knowledge of the truth. Listen you have been mislead, there was a 6th and an 8th day creation. Adam and Eve were never theonly created people. Adam and Eve were set apart and created because through time it was to be the perfect linage in which Christ would come through. That is why satan tried to muck it up by having sex with Eve. But during the flood of Noah,God as He is always faithful, and His works are without fail, destroyed the seed of the fallen angels that had mingled with flesh woman to produce giants. Evil is not natural and that is why it always buirns itself out and comes to nothing. Goodness, and God is Goodness, always triumpes in the end. Because it is the natural way things were created to be. God will draw you to Himself one day,in His time. And then you will know the beauty of His love, mery, and goodness. You will praise Him in that He wills none to be lost, but that ALL come to the knowledge of the truth. Seek Him today I pray.

Adam and Eve weren't the first two or only humans. I suggest you read the Bible. Get one thats in every day language , like the New life translation. It'll help you understand God better.
Believe, I do

It really takes looking at the BIG PICTURE outside the bible, and considering the context that it was written in, both old and new testaments. They really are mutually exclusive even though they usually come bound together. True there is no proof, but some Pagans believe there is SOME higher power, but it is not the god in the bible.
Look at the big picture.

Ok, have you considered that each "day" wasn't 24 hours, that dinosaurs weren't important enough to be mentioned, and that Adam and Eve weren't the only humans on Earth at the time?
Define "hard proof".

to believe in God and Jesus u don't necessarily HAVE to believe in the bible.
scientifically adam and eve could've had tons of kids that intermarried IF adam and eve's genetic makeup were differenciated enough. If you take 2 mutt dogs you can interbreed them for alot alot of generations until you start getting characteristics of inbreeding.
i believe there is a God b/c it doesn't make sense to me to believe that all of the intricasies of life, humans, plants, was just 1 chance in a billion. for the big bang to have happened and for all of this to come from it it seriously would've taken like 1 out of a billion chance followed by another 1 out of a billion chance followed by a million other chances like that. and also i have had experiences w/ the holy spirit..call it endorphines or what have u, but the best xtc can't compare.

in the bible, what is the proof that god offers to attest to his reality?
he says "i am god and there is no other like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times, that which is not yet done." so the bible contains thousands of prophecies, ranging back for millennia. every single one has come true to this day! you need only take the book of daniel and a history book about ancient greece to confirm the incredible accuracy of gods prophetic power. in modern times, one indisputable fulfilment of prophecy is the rebirth of the modern nation of israel, first prophesied as early as 2700 years ago by isaiah.
sure it is written in riddles, and each riddle is a piece of the larger puzzle. it takes time to seek and discern the meanings of them. but it is worth doing. the book of revelation is more up to date than tomorrows newspaper.
tell me, can all our scientific knowledge tell us what will happen tomorrow? what will happen in the middle east? the bible declares that which science has no access to, proving he is god.

Your first mistake is the assumption that "god" necessarily refers to the god of Abraham. There are thousands of others, you might try reading up on some of them to expand your knowledge of religion in general. Assuming that you grew up in a Western culture, it's likely that you were raised to believe that there were two basic options for faith, Christianity and Atheism. Of course, this is not the case, there are many more religious explanations for the origins of the universe and life, not just Genesis.
