Yes, if the parents had the knowledge but chose not to raise their children with the belief in God, I do beleive (and it says in the bible that this is a big responsibility), parents will mourn. That is the A #1 priority of parents in this life - to make sure their children know God and specifically, that the parents do NOT turn their children away from God.

No, at least I know I won't. I will know that I raised my children to be intelligent and educated enough to make their own decisions.

As a mother of two daughters, I think my #1 top responsibility is to raise them to understand that as women they need to be able to make their own choices and stand on their own two feet. When they are old enough to understand the many different concepts of divine, they will make their own choices in this matter. I am not an atheist, but I am not religious. I am a very spiritual person, and my children are well aware of this, but I do not push any particular form of worship or God concept on them. As of right now, I do not feel that there is any form of structured religion that I could raise two girls in and be able to do it responsibly.

EDIT>>>Starlight, I have read your profile. If you truly want to compel people to follow Jesus, you should be a better example of what is Christ-like. Using guilt trips playing on a parent's love for their children is manipulative and shameful. Read the Bible and see how Jesus talked to people. It certainly wasn't like that. The only one I recall in the Bible that played on mankind's baser emotions and needs was Satan.

Your little rant on gays in your profile is shameful as well. If you understood that which you preach, you would understand that we are ALL God's children, gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, and straight alike. Since you are Christian you should know that what stood true when mankind was starting in the Old testament all changed with the coming of Jesus and His death. Please become a bit more educated and a lot less judgemental before you attempt to go out into the world and spread your bigotry.

Unlikely. Parents that believe in God generally raise their child to do likewise. Parents who do not believe in God would have no reason to mourn for not passing on someone else's faith to their kids.

Hey Starlight, do you read the Bible? It sounds like you are unsure about alot of things, that could be answered in the Bible. I know that you are just trying to see who will respond to the answers your way or against you. And then there will be a confrontation. Leave it alone, let it rest, and read the Bible, it's the only truth you will get. Not from this place. If you need help, then IM me or email me. God Bless and Good Luck.............

My parents are christians and they do not mourn because I am an atheist. They raised me to look at everything deeper than face value and are proud that I can make my own decisions regarding what works best in my life.

I teach my kids all that I can but a friend of mine has a saying that I just love ...."What God has ordained will come to pass." His children know His voice and they come when He calls them. My husband was raised to dislike Christianity and people who believed in God. He has a stronger faith than me in some ways now.

I think that any parents that would want their child to be God centered later in life, would raise them to believe in God.
I bet there are parents that regret their choices though.

Many times, I wish parents who'd raise they're kids to believe what they naturally have faith in. My Catholic friends were raised in Catholicism, they know nothing else. It's almost like they never had a choice.

No! Heavens a place of eternal happiness. God will do some brainwashing so the parents can remain ignorant of the tortures their loved ones are going thru!!
