Would you support a born-again Christian, who while believing homosexuals to be sinful, and abortion to be wrong, they supported these rights, based on their interpretation of the constitution?

If the race were between the pro-life, anti-gay atheist and the pro-choice, pro-gay born again, who would you vote for?

Would you vote for a president who refused to address these "social issues" at all?...one who, wanted to focus more on the security of our country, illegal immigration, paying down the national debt, etc...

If a you agreed with a presidential candidate on every issue except for the social issue of abortion and gay rights, would you vote for him...or, do these social issues trump all other issues in your mind?

What is more important to you the security and well being of the country, or whether two men are allowed to marry?

According to the bible, that's how he is and I just hope the bible is wrong in that sense.

Did you read the last few verses of "Job"?
I did. Some of Job's friends were there and said some things and then God was severly persercuting them and "talking down to them" like that did something bad all because they weren't speaking the total truth to Job about whatever it was.

Would God played by Morgan Freeman from "Bruce Almighty" act like that over something so small? I think not.

Because a lot of people are saying that you can't condemn a movie w/o watching it... But its based on a book. So, Have you read the books?

FYI: I have read all three books, AND I am a pretty good Christian. I don't need lecturing about how bad it is, I know. But to be honest, the first book isn't really that bad. I'll assume that the first movie is pretty good and fun, so that kids will like it and they will go to see the second and third movie, which are very bad.

So, have you read it or even heard of the book?

...was one of the best speeches on "American Religious Freedom" given in the last 100 years?

His speech hardly touched on any Mormon Doctrine and I think rightly so because as Mitt pointed out – there should be no religious test for public office. I mean if you what to hear about Mormon beliefs just stop those young men and women on bikes or go to www.mormon.org or www.lds.org

Anyway what did you think about his speech from a religious freedom angle?

Hebrews 13:1 - "Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."

Have you ever had an encounter with someone, maybe someone who asked you for money or some other favor, and later felt it was an angel who had visited you?

Idol gods. A structure or object, that is used by people,
and seen as a deity, or image of high value. Like the
golden calf, that is talked about, in the Bible. Or some
even use statues, and trees. And animals, too. If you
can believe that one. I wonder if anyone has ever like
tried to convert you to do such a horrific thing. Have they ?
If so, then please give us your story. We would love to
hear this one. And if you have a good one, then you will
win best answer. This is the question. Are Atheists,
offended by those who serve "idol gods" ? ~~~

Okay, here is the situation.

A while a go I noticed a user on Y!A had consistently 8 thumbs up on all of his answers, and 9 thumbs down appearing on all other answers. He has a "best answer" percentage rating in the mid 70% range - WAY out of the normal distribution.

SIMILAR TO this answer here that may or may not have been posted by a similar user:

So, I outted that person and since then ...

ALL OF MY answers have been getting 9 thumbs up and 9 thumbs down on all of the other answer. There have been accusations that I was 'cheating' etc.

Fortunaltly, my public back log of answers (both good and bad) show a normal distribution, so my reputation is safe. I AM sorry about any curretn open questions that are suffering because of these tactics

So, here's the question ... spititually speaking, what does your faith teach you about the nature of honor and slander?

Consider this:

I have been in a 17 year gay relationship.

If my partner were in intensive care, I could not visit, for I am not "immediate family."

If he should be incapable of making decisions for himself, I would not be allowed to make the decision to "pull the plug", sustain his life or anything else...

Should he need long term care, I would not have the legal right to take him from the hospital and provide that care.

Should he pass, I would not automatically inherit his property, and that property which we both own, could be forced to sell, and divide assets with his "family"

Even if we go to the expense to hire attorneys and write living wills, etc.... 80% of the time when these wills are contested in court, the courts will side with the "blood relative" over "domestic friend".

Why does it threaten the straight married folk to allow me the right to visit my partner in the hospital? Why is this a threat to the institution of marriage?

Would Christ or any of his 12 apostles travel in a Rolls Royce paid for donations to the Church? I am not saying that it is wrong to preach the "Prosperity Gospel" at all. I am not saying that the salaries of preachers are too high, I am just wondering if we are missing the mark when we buy huge houses when we have no children or just 2 or 3 children, buy Jets, huge gas guzzeling SUVs when we have only ourselves and 1 child to transport. ..Buy Rolls Royces while our fellow man and children are in toxic mobile homes in New Orleans, while people are starving or being enslaved in North Africa, people in the mountains of West Virginia and the Ozark Mountians of Arkansas and Missouri have no way to afford dental care: teeth rotting out, children in public schools of our inner cities do not have protection to walk to school and back safely, suburban kids falling through the cracks who shoot up shopping malls and colleges due to lack of attention, ect. Am I looking at this wrongly?

I have bad news for some people on yahoo. I have very thick skin and you just waste your tiome trying to insult me. You are actually only insulting your own intelligence.
My questions are the backbone of the entertainment value of yahoo. They are thought provoking and timely. Many people out there are in tune to what has and may happen. They are the ones I prefer. No one will insult me on yahoo. I have been exposed to experts insulters who gave up. Most of you are beginners.

I'm getting no where with this on the science page so I thought I'd try here. I'm interested in learning the Creationists' explaination of the methods God used to bring about the formation of the Giant's Causeway, I have read previously that it is related to Noah's flood. So if at all possible could someone explain to me the geological processes implemented by God and please don't just say that God did it full stop. Or turn this into a debate about weither or not Creationist science is a pseudo science. Thank you.

Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving
And revolving at 900 miles an hour,
That's orbiting at 19 miles a second, so it's reckoned,
A sun that is the source of all our power.
The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see,
Are moving at a million miles a day
In an outer spiral arm, at 40,000 miles an hour,
Of the galaxy we call the Milky Way.

Our galaxy itself contains 100 billion stars
It's 100,000 light years side to side.
It bulges in the middle, 16,000 light years thick
But out by us its just 3,000 light years wide
We're 30,000 light years from galactic central point,
We go round every 200 million years
And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions
In this amazing and expanding Universe.

The Universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding
In all of the directions it can whizz
As fast as it can go, at the speed of light you know,
12 million miles a minute, and that's the fastest speed there is.
So remember when you're feeling very small and insecure
How amazingly unlikely is your birth
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space
Because there' bugger all down here on earth.
