i am a full pledge heretic atheist.
i think god is a jerk and religion one of the world terrible diseases. siting alongside nationality & capitalism.
but i find it very interesting, so i find my self alot asking and chaking answers about religion.
and i see all this atheists who constantly try to prove that religion is stupid. it is just like selling ice to Eskimos.
and they talk about evolution in such a big enthusiasm you would think it their religion. it is just science like the law of gravity. i dont see you talking about that.

the question is
R&S atheists dont you have any thing better tto do then pick on religious folks?

Are the natives of these beautiful countries going to sit back and let those who have sought asylum from their troubled countries to settle here change the laws of these lands. What I 'm asking is are the British people just sitting back and letting the muslims who have come to settle here influence and change the laws they found here? eg the introduction of the sharia law etc. There are many muslim nations that are not at war, can't all those who are not happy with the way of life here seek to leave else where. This is a chrisitan nation and it has come this far because of it's background and I personally think our laws should not be changed because other people are "offended" with the way of life here am I wrong? please correct me. We cannot speak about our faith because other religious groups will be offended, it's as bad as schools not having nativity plays, come on people, what's going on? Don't we need to stand up for what we believe?

In this week's parashah, we find the brothers of Joseph apologizing to him. Yet I don't see Joseph apologizing to his brothers. Afterall, wasn't it Joseph who started the whole mess?

Note to onlookers: The purpose of this type of question among Jews is to present a topic sufficiently interesting that it will cause us to read the Torah. Using the Torah to support a position causes us to delve more deeply into the Torah. It's this process of searching for the answer that is important and not the actual answer.

which would you prefer to win the Presidential Election? Romney (even though he's a Mormon) or a Democrat?
And Why?

*NOTE: This is a HYPOTHETICAL question, not a prediction of what I think will happen - I, along with everyone else, have no idea who we will actually end up voting between.*

Wouldn't there be more believers if the Bible would just mean what it says. Also wouldn't people be less confused if the Bible didn't reverse everything it says.

Those who don't believe me, prove it to yourselves, pick up a Bible, and I promise that you cannot read it all without being confused.
Those who believe they know what the Bible means, I ask you if that is true why doesn't everyone believe you? If the Bible has one true meaning, why doesn't everyone agree? Think logically. Behind every thought, every word, every action is a strong reason.

Don't they know every single day of the year can be celebrated by anyone for what ever purpose they please and no day belongs to any one or any group exclusively?

In a secular society, there is no 'one religion'.

It has become common to use 'CE' (common era) instead of 'AD'

(Anno Domini - 'in the year of our Lord')

Do you think people should still use 'In The Year Of Our Lord' whether or not they follow Jesus? Or do you think 'Common Era' is more reasonable in a secular society?

Or do you see secularism as a threat to your religion's influence in the world around you?

Leviticus 12 (KJV)

"1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean.

3And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

4And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled.

5But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days.

6And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest:

Did anyone else get told the story of how St Nicholas saved some kids who had been cut up and put in a barrel by restoring their form, and then take it as true without questioning it?

Looking back on it I really should've asked "How?" a lot more when I was younger. Anyone else feel somewhat embarrassed about how naive and gullible you are as a kid?

I mean let's face it, you get the same answers over and over and over again and get mad when we give mean answers. Shouldn't you maybe focus on asking deeper questions about religion instead of these generic no brainers?

How about you guys spend more time questioning your own beliefs and asking questions about the cultures that created your current belief structures?
For instance
Where does the term "Satan" originate and what did it mean to Ancient Jews and how did it evolve from a cultural standpoint as well as an Entymological standpoint. Ex. How did the term Satan become "Lucifer"

Or how about, what Theistic beliefs originated Pre dating Judaism and what do the terms Elohim and Yahweh really mean? and what did they mean to ancient cultures? And who did these beings represent to the Nomadic tribes?

I don't enjoy it when anyone knocks on my door to sell anything.

What I was wondering is, do JW's realise that if they didn't set out 'till noon. They would have less chance of being sworn at, and less chance of seeing me naked?

Or is there something in the Watchtower that specifies waking people up?

If you cop oput and answer, "Rightly divide the word of God blah blah" or "Some of it isn't meant for Chilldren Blah Blah" then I submit to you that:

If it isn't 100% "fit for children to read" then why should it be considered a "moral guide post"?
