so many of these so-called prophecies that i'm reading over, don't really seem to be prophecies at all. they seem more to be just comments about an event which is current to the time of the particular story that was written. are we to take it that every single instance where text in the old testament is loosely (and i stress the word loosely) coincidental to text in the new testament it should be considered prophecy?

I have had 3 basic questions removed. Nothing bad said in them. Do not understand. One was does anyone have the Crosley CR249 USB turntable to rip records to CD's...totally legal.

The other one is does anyone Jewish or knowledgable in the Jewish faith know how the Star of David became a symbol of faith for the Jews like the cross is to Christians. Again nothing judgemental. I love the Jewish people I just wanted to know about the Star of David cannot find that info and I have studied alot.

So can anyone see why these were removed even before they got 1 answer?

There are tons of am I pregant, does he love me. What size my *** is etc.. Those stay. My straighforward serious ones get deleted. ?????

Why or why not?

I got a great book off ebay called "santa are you for real?"

I will either read this to my kids when they stop believing in santa, or read it to them early on and not do santa, but we can still surprise them with gifts..............I'm just not sure what to do.
Both my family and husband's did santa with us and of course we're all fine, but I just keep thinking I may not want to do it....

I'm taking Jesus as my 1st round pick. The other side has had him long enough and he's been just riding the pine.

I'll make a play for Buddha in the second round - he will make an awesome spiritual full back (the fat Buddha, not the skinny version).

I may take Mohamed as a tight end, not sure yet.

1. Don't believe in Trinity 2. Believe that Jesus is just one son of God and there are other sons equal to Him 3. That satan and Jesus are brothers 4. Believe that husbands must call their wives to heaven or they don't go 5. That the Book of Mormon is equal to the Bible.

If we live in a vast multiverse populated with enumerable universes that contain no life and only a handful that do, would not this be evidence that there is no intelligent designer?

If an intelligent designer did exist wouldn't he have just made one universe that had everything contained in the multiverse without the unpopulated universes that exist in the multiverse?

Isn't it amazing how many so called Christians in here claim they are going to heaven to be with Christ , when in most of their questions and answers their tongue is full of hate , bitterness and outright lies about others , which proves a bad heart condition.

Luke 6:45 New American Standard Bible (©1995)
"The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.

The question is :

Do you really think Jesus would want you guys around ?

Are you really so mislead that you think there can be a reward like that for people like you ?

I have read Saint Augustine and many philosophers concerning their views on free will. I am not looking for any biblical answers for free will unless it has its basis in logic. I have a profound argument against free will but I am reluctant to share it with readers because of what harm it may cause for some people who have fragile belief systems.

Is it not lonely and empty to feel as though you're just an accident and completely unimportant to this life. We all need boundaries as you know, especially children otherwise they turned into thugs and criminals. So is it not true if you chose not to believe in our Creator that you have no boundaries and do whatever your instincts tells you to do? Isn't it sad?

Myth
1. a traditional or legendary story, usually concerning some being or hero or event, with or without a determinable basis of fact or a natural explanation, esp. one that is concerned with deities or demigods and explains some practice, rite, or phenomenon of nature.
2. stories or matter of this kind: realm of myth.
3. any invented story, idea, or concept: His account of the event is pure myth.
4. an imaginary or fictitious thing or person.
5. an unproved or false collective belief that is used to justify a social institution

The bible 100% fits this description. My question to you is I'm sure what the Greeks believed in seems silly to you as it does to me. Why is your story the truth and theirs fake? What proof do you have that they're not right and your story is? Please no bible passages or stupid short answers praising god because that just makes you look like a ignorant person and will further prove my point. My Christian GF and I discussed this last night

I find that many religious people seem unable to detatch the idea of morality from the teachings/rules of their religious faith.
Why is it so hard to believe that some people can be decent and in fact very moral without the bribery of 'heaven' or salvation or something like that. My question is - is there something in the bible that distinctly tells them that you can't be moral if you don't believe in god?

Just wondering because I often see a knee-jerk reaction from very religious people that automatically equates atheism with immorality. It stinks! Many non-believers are just as giving, kind, decent and "christian-acting" as those who hypocritically go to church but never do a good deed in their lives.
Anyone want to share thoughts on the matter?

Symbols and motifs associated with the modern Christmas are derived from traditional pagan Yule celebrations. Burning the Yule log, decorating Christmas trees, eating of ham, hanging of boughs, holly, mistletoe, etc. are all historically practices associated with Yule. When the Christianization of the pagans began, missionaries found it convenient to provide a Christian reinterpretation of popular pagan holidays such as Yule and allow the celebrations themselves to go on largely unchanged, versus trying to confront and suppress them.

Pope Gregory suggested that converting "heathens" would go easier if they were allowed to retain the outward forms of their traditional pagan practices and traditions, while recasting those traditions spiritually towards the Christian God instead of to their pagan "devils".

Why do Christians persist in denying the historical facts that this is in fact a pagan holiday?

the bible is written in virtually every language. it's rather easy to follow, even with the somewhat older style of grammar used. so why are there so many books on how to read the bible? shouldn't it be up to the individual reader to decide whether or not it makes sense? shouldn't god's word have been obvious to every person, without need of an interpreter or someone to explain what is really meant by each passage?

We have weekly prayer group meetings, and we are currently using this book called 'When Heaven Invades Earth- A practical Guide to a life of Miracels- Jack Taylor & Randy Clark'. Apparently all stories written in this book are based on true events.

-Resurrection in Africa-

Pastor Surprise is an apostolic leader working with Rolland and Heidi Baker of Iris Ministries in Mozambique. Buring an evangelistic crusade in which he was preaching, a 9 year old girl died, which threatened to end the series of meetings. The entire village was stricken with grief.

The next day Pastor Surprise went to visit the family, and the child's body was still in the hut where where she had died the night before. As he was praying for the family, he happened to be holding the little girl's hand. He was not praying for her to rise from the dead, yet after a few minutes the girl squeezed his hand. She was raised 12 hours after her death because someone was full of the Holy Spirit.
