just like thou shall not kill vs thou shall not murder, it seems that "translation error" is so easily acceptable, so why not hundereds of other laws and "truths" in the bible, whos to say we cant just go through it, completely redo the bible, and say it was mistranslated. Why stop at kill vs murder. Lets keep it going.

P.S. Put on a sweater, you'll catch cold.

I've seen several messages on here about how Christians are being forced to watch a movie with which they disagree. I've read that it's being forced down their throats.

Are atheists are tying up Christian children, taking them to movie theaters, and holding their eyes open while they watch the movie or something?

Based on the uproar, it seems like atheists must somehow be forcing the Christians to watch the movie (even if it's not exactly the scenario above).

Is that really what's going on, or do some people just have a persecution complex?

In the beginning, there was nothing.
Then God said, "Let there be light!"
Then there was still nothing, but you could SEE it!

There is a lot of confusion out there. What is the purpose of baptism? Once you tell me the purpose of it, is it important to one's salvation? Please include scripture references.

... the more people are going to be curious and want to be part of it, right?

Rather like... Harry Potter, The Golden Compass, and yes, even sex.

You do realize that if you stopped freaking out about it, you wouldn't start the "forbidden fruit" thing and make everyone want to be part of it more than they ever would otherwise? Right?

And yes, YOU Christians do exactly that especially with kids who are looking for excitement and to protest against the establishment in the first place.

If you stopped freaking out about these thing, they wouldn't be so curious and it would be relegated to the back of their minds and forgotten much much more often.

Here is a concept, that in some form or fashion, "man" has believed since from as far back as we know.

I am a muslim and if you non muslim believed that you are also children of God .This verses 171,chapter 004,an-nisa,God said:
O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, JESUS son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not "Three". Cease! (it is) better for you! Allah is only One God. Far is it removed from His transcendent majesty that he should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defender.

You say that none of the contradictions in the bible are actual contradictions, so let's say you wanted to add one. What could you add to the bible that would be a real contradiciton?

Then, once you've done that, imagine giving that altered bible to a Christian who never read the bible and tell them to read it. Would they be able to tell that your addition was an actual contradiction or would they rationalize it somehow and tell you it was not a contradiction?
