I read in the bible Jesus saying that," if you don't love your friend whom we see, how can you say that we love God ". Southern pastors used to own slaves and too my shock in todays era, almost all southern Baptist members they have some thing against blacks you can feel the hatred......so do they expect to be greeted with open arms in heaven ? Afterall , black and white is gonna be same level there, so how are they gonna cope up with that ?

2000 years ago, an unmarried woman got pregnant, told everyone that God put the baby there, and everyone believed her. That boy grew up and told everyone he was the son of God, and everyone believed him.
If that happened today, would YOU believe them?
For all we know, Christ may have come back 100 times in the last 2000 years, but who would believe a guy walking around telling everyone he's Jesus Christ?

The few shall bring you greatness. Our independence depends on Our willingness to Speak for you. And though We risk being shot to death by Open Enemies, Our Word shall Prevail. Intellectual cowardice has no place among Us. For over four-hundred and fifty-two years, Our People have been subjected to some of the most debasing treatment in the entirety of human history. Do they not deserve better? How long shall We permit Their inheritance to be held by the Wicked? How long will We issue unjust judgments against Our People, and simultaneously accept the Wicked. Psalms 82:2. The Shepard is charged with the responsibility of the Flock. Are We not to Defend Our own? Who shall establish Justice for the afflicted and needy if not Us? If We’re not Our own Deliverers, We cannot hope to cast off those eager to cause Mischief among Us, or among any of Our Brothers. If a man or woman truly loves and admires God (believing in the absoluteness of His power), what is his/her duty regarding the Truth?

how do you christians pull up all that gibberish so fast when answering questions? These ridiculous verses are not scientifically sound and are pretty much useless when backing up an argument or point of view. its like me saying the earth was made by cute puppy dogs and then quoting a line from a four-year-old's christmas list.

"i wuv my wittle doggy he's da bestes, he needs a fwiend 4 kismas"

I went to a Catholic high school and I think it was quiet liberal compared to what is typically said about Catholicism and Christianity in general. My family is muslim and I myself am atheist but I went there because I wanted a good education and also because it was all girls (less boy drama).
They were very accepting of other faiths (or the lack thereof). I had to study catholicism and christianity but I took as a learning experience and wasnt expected to much more than that.
In one year, a muslim girl won the religion award (she had the highest mark in Catholicism lol).
It felt more like a girl-power school with very loose religious aspects. We learned Darwin for gosh sakes and discussed rights of same sex couples and abortion.
Perhaps because it was in Canada and it was different than what I keep reading about US religiosity levels.
Are there any other Catholic schools that would seem to be liberal to you? Esp. in US?

can you accept at face value that many non-believers have had an epiphany that religion is nonsense.

In my case, I was 12 and attending an evangelical church my mother belonged to. One day it just came to me in a flash that what I was being taught was complete b.s. It was the closest thing to a "religious" experience I have had. It was a wonderful day, when a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders.

Do you deny my experience?

It's just like the ones a lot of churches use. Big difference is that every week it gets a new phrase, or quote from various atheists, pagans, satanists etc. etc. The only thing not used on it is anything from Christianity, since they already have plenty. Case went to court, billboard stays. I don't think the churches had the right to complain about it, since they have so many displaying their beliefs. What do you think?

It seems like people are always saying that the only reason teens become Pagan/Wiccan is because they are either

A) Outcasts that have no friends.
B) Trying to get attention.
C) Trying to rebel against there parents.

I'm a Pagan teen. I'm none of those. I have plenty of very very close friends. I'm not goth or emo, either. Sure, I'm not the most popular girl at school, but I don't want to be.

I don't want attention from my religion, good or bad. Bot even my very closest friend whom I've known since I was four knows I'm pagan. I try not to shine light on it, because I don't really like attention like that.

My parents are all for it. They love that I found a religion that suits me. They have always belived in a higher power and my mom believes in reincarnation, but neither are part of any religion.

Think about it, you gotta be prepared everyday. There is no advanced warning. It could happed anytime.

I think the most important thing i would be worried about is my underwear. Only your body gets pulled up, not your clothes. Think about it, when the rapture occurs all of us sinners are gonna be rummaging through all of your wallets and personal belongings looking for cash and whatnot. Thats what we do, thats why were sinners.

Anyway, my point is that we sinners are gonna know who lacked good personal hygiene habits and who didn't. We're gonna see who leaves the little brown skid marks in their drawers and it's gonna be funny. So my question is "are you truly ready for the rapture?"

I heard a lot about this debate a while ago... about people wanting creationism taught in science class as an alternative to evolution.

To me this doesn't make sense. Would children not simply go to a religious school? Also religious people do not think creationism is science, so where is the argument that it should be taught in a science class?

Even if I were christian I would hold these views: science and religion are not the same and therefore should not be taught together.

I happen to believe the Bible was written in parables, stories to teach a moral story. But for anyone who reads the Bible literally, you must believe in the story of Noah and the Ark as it is written in Genesis. My question is, God created Adam and Eve and then destroyed the world with the only surviviors being Noah, his wife, their sons, and daughter-in-laws. Now this would make Noah and his wife my grandpappy and grandmammy thousands of times back. What's my grandmammy's thousands of times back name? Don't you think that the very seeds that carried on the entire human races name would be important enough to mention in the Bible?
