Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.-1 John 4:7-16

Gumby, Gumby...
There is a special love that Christians have for one another. We are to love non-Christians, too...and even our enemies. Yet, I do not call you an enemy. I don't even know you. But I can still bleed with love for you. Do you believe Muslims have the same inheritance as you, as a Mormon? Of course not. So which is more loving: to ignore the difference and allow your Muslim friend to go to hell...or to share the truth? Christians and Mormons do not share the same inheritance. For me to point this out is loving. I would have you read this:
http://www.carm.org/lds/lds_christian.htm

Mormons I have met have often been more faithful to the obedience of the Bible than many "Christians" I know. BUT, the big difference is that heaven is not reserved for those who are 'good and obedient"...it is reserved for those who repent and believe in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. This by grace through faith. Teaching something otherwise is just false.

Gumby:
My question obviously had nothing to do with Mormons, but obviously the Lord is working here. There are many in Christian churches (Protestant and Catholic) who will go to hell, and there are some Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses that will go to heaven. No person believes exactly as their organization believes - certainly, we can agree on this. But if you are saved as a Mormon, it is no because you are Mormon, but rather despite what the official teaching of the Mormon church is. Again, in love...I point you here:
http://www.carm.org/lds/lds_christian.htm

And feel free (you, and any other Mormon) to email me personally, to discuss these difficult truths more fully.

Again, the Gospel is a message of hope, grace, and love...from God to ALL. I am but a messenger, like a mailman. God, as judge, knows your heart. I cannot "see" the heart of any other person. Only God can see the heart. And Romans 10:5-17 stands.

In love, grace and peace in Christ!

Perfectly ?/ No..Sad to say..Why Lie about it ? i won't , Nor will I make any excuses about that.
I guess,,Comfort comes in that when we say that no one can be perfect in that...But that is a cop-out huh /
yes..I think it is..reading what you posted and asked is even now tearing at me..perhaps I guess if we all would be convicted in that way,..there would be les divion between us.

I am so glad that Salvation is By Grace and faith..because if it were by works..we would all be doomed.

My God forgive my weaknesses.

I'm curious. Am I allowed to answer this question? I try to behave that way. I read and believe in the Bible. I believe it is the word of God. Yet, I have seen you write that I belong to a cult. So I guess I wonder if I'm worthy enough of your Christian love to answer this question?

EDIT: I do repent, quite regularly actually. And I do believe that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour and that salvation can only come through Him. Isn't the rest just a difference of opinion? You have said that that is all I need. I have that. According to you, I belong in Heaven to.

I do believe in God and Jesus, but do not consider myself a Christian. The traits you stated did at one time represent the Christian religion, but not today. Christianity has been hijacked by the fundamentalists and turned into a very exclusive cult. I know in my heart Jesus would be appalled at what is being taught and preached in His name.

I long to be this way. I have a near continual prayer for guidance and this is often included in that. How to be this way? Not just with 'one another' as you say, but with everyone as you ammended. I can feel your love, inspired by Jesus and it is powerful. Very nice question, thank you.

well. gee... so how come all you "christians" keep accusing us Mormons of preaching false doctrine and that Mormonism is a cult? (like you did just now. I'm not blind, you know.)

kinda... what the word? oh yeah. HYPOCRITICAL, isn't it?

And on top of it, you post an anti-mormon website. Are we missing something here?

you know what you are? just another self-centered liar trying to promote their religion at the expense of others. you sicken me.

I do my very best! I am sure I fail miserably at times but my heart is full of love for others and I strive with all my heart to be like Christ!

I try as hard as I can to be the best person that I can be. I try to keep my mind and heart pure, I try to be nice to everyone (even if they sometimes aren't nice to me), I try to love everyone with brotherly love. No matter how hard I try, I don't always succeed. We're all sinners and nonperfect. No matter how much we tell ourselves we can do everything and be perfect, we'll never be. The best thing to do is to worship God and keep Him first in you're life, and just be the best person that you can be.

You're a beautiful person!
very beautiful person...this is a hard task to complete.
its hard not just to say you love everyone and actually hide you're distrust and hatred.
it's something we all need to work with and seems impossible, but it isn't with the help of God.
You can't seek this goal without guidance from Him!
ahhh haa!

I think that we do our best to be.

I have encountered many Believers who I could just strike up a conversation with, like we had known each other all our lives!
