If the Adam and Eve myth really was truth, the human race would have long ago died out as demented, deformed inbreds.

Genesis 4:17 says, "Cain lay with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch." Who was his wife? It is implied in the biblical text that Cain married one of his sisters. Several facts lead us to this conclusion.
First, it is clear that Adam and Eve had a number of children. Genesis 5:4 says, "After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters." Since Adam and Eve were the first man and woman, and since God had commanded them (and their descendants) to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:28), it seems reasonable to conclude that Cain married one of his many sisters. It is also possible that he married a niece or even a grandniece.
One must keep in mind that in the early years of the human race there were no genetic defects that had yet developed as a result of the fall of man. By the time of Abraham, God had not yet declared this kind of marriage to be contrary to His will (see Genesis 20:12). Laws governing incest apparently did not become enacted until the time of Moses (Lev 18:7-17; 20:11,12,14,17,20,21). Hence, there was no prohibition regarding marrying a sister (or niece or grandniece) in the days of Cain.

Adam/Eve's children had to marry each other, yes. But as time went on generations got further and further apart. Remember, back then birth control was not reliable,to say the least. Most people had lots of children. So, it didn't take long for generations to expand.

Possibly, but not in the manner that we may think.

Remember that humans lived to be 600-900+ years old. There is no record of the age at which they married. Many generations could have passed distancing the blood relations of individuals.

Again the range of adulthood was greater, so that could have possibly made it feasible for the indigenous populous (big words... watch now!) to interact with husband and wife relations being that Billy was born 500 years before Becky was; therefore, amongst the many born in between, they hook up in the shuffle. Remember, Noah's children, after the flood, gave birth to "kissing cousins", so to speak, to re-populate the earth.

To add, there was no law in those days. The dispensation at the time was conscience. The second dispensation was human government.

That makes sense to me.

God bless.

Yes, actually. Cain must have married one of his sisters, according to the Bible, but those relationships were necessary at that point, and were not considered sin at the time.

Or God created more women for Cain to marry, but that is not mentioned in the Bible.

There hadn't been time for many mutations to arise so marrying ones sibling wasn't such a bad idea (especially when they are about the only one on earth).

The Bible says that Adam was the first man, not the only man.
