My boyfriend is getting baptized Sunday night, and I want to get him something special. He means the world to me and I want to get him something to let him know I'm so proud of him for accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior. He's 23 years old. (we are southern baptist, by the way, if that helps. :) Just need some suggestions for what to get him.

According to Muhammad's Sahih Bukhari Hadith, people who leave the "religion of peace" are to be killed. The job of the "muttaween" is to hunt and kill those who leave Islam and anyone else whom Muslims dislike, such as the Danish cartoonist or the publishers of Salman Rushdie's book "The Satanic Verses".

Want to read the stories of people who have broken free from Islam and survived?

But 1 Kings 8:12 says he dwells "in the thick darkness."

I have been to 4 wakes where the people who past on were in the ranges of 20-38 years old. The thing that upsets me about wakes is not so much the person lying in the casket or people sad or crying. The thing that truly hurts me is that they died and are never coming back:( and the chilling fact that death is final
and the harsh reality that I will never see them in an earthly sense again.
Is this normal to feel this way regarding death?
Is there a better way to handle the fears of what I listed above?
I remember when my grandpa died he was my angel from heaven that God sent to me when I needed an angel most and after he died I told my husband lets go visit grandpa and he lovingly looked at me and said honey we cant I never cried so many tears in all my life. And my pastor died and he was an other angel God send to me and it is almost 5 years and I still cant beleive he is gone. Is it also normal to be sad because they are never coming back?

dream. I dreamt I discovered a large room under my house, and I could only get to it going down a ladder when I lifted a couple of floor boards. The room was large, and had French windows that allowed one to walk into the garden. The room was furnished and I saw mice droppings on the floor, which
annoyed me. Was this a spiritual message?
does anyone know the meaning.

Hey Christians! Here’s something that will make your brains tingle:

According to the Bible God is All-Powerful. This means there are no limits to his power. He can do ANYTHING. This includes the power to make himself All-Knowing. Obviously this means he knows absolutely everything. He knows everything that's ever happened, everything that's happening right now, and everything that will happen in the future with everything from what you're thinking to how many cells there are in your body etc. Absolutely everything!

Apparently he also made us.

So, when God makes someone, he knows everything that that person will do in their lifetime before they're even born…. because he knows everything.
The problem is, why does he still choose to place “evil” people on this planet? He knows that they'll end up in hell once they die, so is he not condemning that person to hell before they're even born? There doesn't seem to be any justice or logic in there, it sounds more like a trap.

I'm not knocking anyone's religion, but I can't see why prophecy is such a big deal. If someone is leading a life of faith, why should they be so concerned about the future?

People, non-believers and Believers alike, speak of how churches/pastors are horrible for asking money and see it as a bad thing.
First off, I don't feel a person needs to go to church every week or at all in order to be a good Christian. Some people go and are not really Christians. Whether or not a person goes is between that person and God.
Second off ,if a person does choose to go (or called to go), there is a scripture somehwere in the New Testament about giving 10 percent of income (weekly income) for tithe. Second, church ask for money to help the less fortunate because helping the less fortunate is what we are comanded to do. It's one thing if a person is truly too poor to give money to the church, some people truly cannot. But for those who can ( who GOD feels has enough money to give to the church), why do many people have a problem with it? I know that some just aren't into sacrificing.
