You can't prove to me there is no God and I can't prove to you that there is. Sounds like a tie to me. And you know what?
I played on a softball team once and when the game was tied after 9 innings we decided to go drink beer instead of have extra innings-- what do you say we go drink beer?

I was recently made aware of the violations appeal board & it's quite an interesting read. I think R&S is unfairly over-represented, but aside from that, they delete any replies. I'm not sure why they give you the option to reply if you aren't allowed to do so, but that's beside the point. I did comment to support a much loved R&S regular. It won't be there long, though.

They seem to copy & paste responses onto these appeals. I expect to be deleted soo because I told them that if anyone answered like that on a main board they'd get deleted for spamming. So if I disappear, that's why.

Anyway, if you're interested, check it out: it's quite interesting.

don't "google" religious questions, just believe..take no notice of the information on the net. Peter Youngren was the preacher on today.. His theory is that if Christians spend time checking on biblical/religious facts they will not be totally devoted to God! What say you???

It promotes atheism, that God is a mere mortal and an angel, an ex-nun engaging in sexual partnerships and science (in the second book), and much more.

Even though this is a very "Chronicles of Narnia" type movie, you should not let your kids watch this. The author of the books have already stated this. As a Pagan, I think this will be a very interesting movie.

As a Christan, are you outraged at what this movie will be portraying?

Do you believe we should legalize polygamy since so many are living this way anyway?
I mean I just saw it on Oprah a couple of weeks ago and I knew about already, but there are also people in mainstream society living this way as well. Not just ppl from certain religions.

Only Brings Complete Oneness and Happiness. If you dis-agree then post why you do?

I hear many of you say here Religion is the cause of so many wars Okay yes that might be true and that is because MAN put his 2 cents in and cause many religions encompass man's sinful nature..

But when did a war start in the name of Jesus? Jesus came to the world to SAVE not condemn that being said he also said NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER BUT BY ME-John 14:6

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me....He has answered one truth which what we should be addicted to (What we want more than anything) and no one has ever in history has given us an answer to everything, and if there is how come he hasn't showed up?

OK for today I saw the following sign outside a church:

"Housing shortage? Not in heaven."
Ok true my area is having a serious crisis with housing (people are living in tool sheds and in cars) but does anyone know what is being implied here? I don't get it.

Also yesterday I saw a sign that said "Even the snail made it to the ark"
Sorry but I don't get the point of this one either.

A little assistance here please. Thanks

becasue you really dont find alot of young people that ARE NOT ASHAMED to allow GOD to use them.. me personaly have been going to church all my life , but just about 3 years ago is when I became saved...I mean us as saved young people have alot of things that come at use daily.. because we are the next generation, and the devil knows that he is running out of time so he does everything in his power to destract us and try to cause us to astray from God and his will for our life...I wouldnt change the way I live my life for anybody...I mean Ive had some friends ask me is all you do is go to church??.. I feel If i miss the word that God is giving my pastors 4 ME I feel like Ive disowned God...We owe him so much....and people want to say how can you have faith in some one youve never seen..... my question to them is you have the faith that you will wake up in the morning right?you have the faith that when you put our feet on the floor you will walk? SO WHY NOT HAVE FAITH IN GOD??

Can you apply what is said to animal within yourself? Can you see the objective is not to negate the animal, but put it in its place where it serves you in harmony? To domestic that wild beast within you?

I have a co-worker who's a real sleeze-ball. He brings a flash drive to work even though they're not allowed (we work with some potentially sensitive financial information), he's arrogant and thinks he can do whatever he wants. He comes in to work on weekends and at night and does nothing so he can rack up overtime. Everyone in the office sees it but the boss, who is religious. The boss totally likes the guy because they hole up in his office and talk about church.
My aunt is also very into religon. She has her own medical practice and I used to work there as a receptionist. The office manager was also "deeply religious". Something about her rubbed me the wrong way, but my aunt liked her because they used to pray together at lunch and yak about their religion. My aunt is now bankrupt because the office manager stole her identity and racked up a bunch of bills in her name.
What is it about religious people that they dont' have that "sixth sense" about bad people? Is it gulibility?

Okay so in my question of 'who holds the burden of proof' you answered :

If you have ever been in a thunder storm, Or have seen the grand Canyon,The rainbow in the sky, the ocean,a beautiful sunset,a fresh crisp snow, the birth of a child, these are all evidence of GOD.

That really didn't answer the question but anyways....

Okay so these things are evidence of God. Okay.... does that in turn mean that bad things are evidence of there not being a God? (If a cute baby or beautiful sunset brought to you courtsey of air pollution is your big basis of proof then....whoa)

Too often people say : "Look at that rainbow/baby/flower/sunset and that's how you know there's a God."
Well in that same respect couldn't one say "Look at that murder/rape/child molester/AIDS and that's how you know there isn't a God." ?

I would like to quote from Edward Edinger:
In the study of one's personal life history—going back through the traumas of early experience that make up so much of our personal complexes—shallow answers to these questions may be found. And if that method suffices to provide sufficient meaning that heals, so be it. But often it does not; and one must go deeper. It is then that one may come eventually to the Self, the paradoxical God-image The experiences one has in that encounter, the knowledge that one gains in the process, "gnosis of the Divine." And when that is achieved, the neurosis is finally healed.

These same matters apply on a vast collective scale as humanity begins to experience world-wide apocalyptic events. The same questions arise: "What's happening? Who is responsible? What does it all mean?"
The idea that a vast historical "transformation of God" is going on and that the ordeal is the necessary "sacrificial" event to bring to bring about that transformation
