Genesis 4:4-5
"...The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor."

you see this in kids today, if parents give more attention to one child than the other, the other becomes jealous and resentful.

could this have been prevented if god didnt play favorites?

I have seen a lot of questions on here such as “is it a sin if im gay” or “would god approve if I..“ or “will I go to hell if I..“
Why do people need the approval of a book to do everything! I mean why do people let this book rule there lives? It was written over 2,000 years ago by people who thought the world was flat! It causes soo many arguments even wars!
No one actually knows if ‘god’ is real or not, has anybody actually seen him? ..
I don’t mean to cause offence, this is NOT an argument , its simply an opinion and a question.

"It has been a traditional belief that Moses was the author who wrote the first five books of the Bible, known as the Torah (the law) or the Pentateuch. No one was present at the time to verify that Moses did indeed write the entire law, however this belief can be tested by examining the books in question. Even a cursory investigation is enough to conclusively demonstrate that no single individual, Moses or not, wrote them, but that rather they are composed of a conflation of conflicting and diverse source materials with the component parts composed over a span of many centuries. Finally these divergent sources were edited and then conflated in a single set of manuscripts"
"The evidence indicates that it was the Levite priesthood who wrote the Levitical laws in the Bible,"

So I'm looking at the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. I don't see the Christian Principles there. Please, if you know of some Christian Principles in those documents, then tell me, specifically, what they are.

A few of the principles in the Constitution - Separation of powers, election of leaders, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, right to a jury trial, right to representation, protections against searches and seizures....

I just can't find any Christian Principles there. Help!

"to preach" means oo advocate, especially to urge acceptance of or compliance with: preached tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

So, here's my question:

Is the main purpose of a Preacher to convert the unbeliever, to educate the believer, or to reinforce the beliefs of believers?

In my past question about Slavery and how Christianity was used to justify the means many of you supported the claims of the bible. Others simple blew the question off and targeted past slavery in Africa. There were African slaves before slavery but if you do your history you would know that they were also prisoners of war, or became slaves to pay off depts from there rulers. They weren't kidnapped and rapped. They weren't feed to sharks. They were not looked at as UNhuman. Why can't people stand up and say that it was wrong and it was done in the name of God. Yes!!!! Christianity is guilty for the blood that was spilled during slavery. I would love to see the day when Christians come to grips with reality and look at all the things they have justified. (Witch trials, Slavery, Oppression of Women (Islam too), Destorying the Native American, War on Terrism, etc etc. Everyday Religion is causing friction and turmoil all for what?

Whenever I'm in a situation where everyone is praying, I'm not sure what is the proper "etiquette." When I'm at a wedding or at a family gathering and everyone starts praying, I usually will stand quietly but do not bow my head or pray. Is that considered rude? Or is it acceptable to remain quiet while others pray?

Are the Evangelical-bushist propagandas about the growth Christianity real?

How many Christians are there in China? They're more than Taoists or Buddhists?

Is really Christianity destroying the Chinese culture as it did with the European Pagan Roots?

maybe you don't realize, but most pagans see halloween the same as atheists do. it's a time to dress up, eat candy and have fun. we pagans disconnect halloween from samhain (or whatever religious observance different pagan faiths have at that time)

it's like christmas and yule. one is secular, one is religious, but they both fall at the same time.

don't you think that maybe if you have to boycott a sacred pagan time, that you boycott samhain rituals themselves instead of innocent halloween fun? stop giving out silly bible verses, it's not a time for converting people, it's just a time to let loose and have some fun!

(although i really wish you'd just live and let live)
