"to preach" means oo advocate, especially to urge acceptance of or compliance with: preached tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

So, here's my question:

Is the main purpose of a Preacher to convert the unbeliever, to educate the believer, or to reinforce the beliefs of believers?

When you say "preacher" do you mean "pastor"? There is a difference between the two. Assuming you mean pastor, all three of those purposes are part of his responsibility, but the main focus is the overseeing of his congregation.

Yes, all three. When I listen it is mostly to find out how to live because I am a believer. but I want to know that God still loves me and forgives me for my sins. I think our preacher things his main purpose is to convert those who do not believe. Of course as a believer I do get reinforcement but mostly then I find out what the Bible says to reinforce what I believe.

I believe that all three are the purpose of the preacher and one can't be more important than the other. If he is preaching the word of God he will accomplish all three at the same time.

I believe the main purpose of a modern day preacher is to encourage other believers and invite new believers into the kingdom. All Christians should be preachers to some extent.

They claim it's all three, but being raised Fundamental Baptist, I can say that it's also their job to call people names from the pulpit, buy their 12 year olds weed, exhibit cult-like behaviors, and cheat on their wives. I actually knew preachers like that.

In Christian terms a preacher is one who preaches or proclaims the Gospel.
The Gospel message is aimed at bringing people to repentance and faith in God although it is only God who can convert.
There are also teachers within the Christian Church who's job it is to educate and encourage believers.

well in my own understanding, a preacher should not only be all of the things mention above, but a motivator becuase many people go to church seeking relieve, peace, somebody that could understand them. thus, a preacer should communitcate the word of God, but at the same time encourage its audience to change, to turn away from their sins.
