Actually those who counted only 3 initially are the smarter ones. We process language faster and therefor skip "of" 3 times. It is a speed reading technique.
I would venture to guess those who only got 3 did so because they subconsciously skipped the word "of"
I'm sorry what does this have to do with eyes or Alzheimer's?
