In your opinion, are they really a Christian?

Please state your denomination with your answer.

This question is for christians who claim the gospels were all written before the destruction of the temple.

I am not wanting to debate when they were written as I have done a substantial amount of reading on the subject and have formed my own opinions.

I have seen many chrstian sites that give arguments for a later dating but have never seen a secular site which claims an early dating. If they were written early should I not be able to find at least one secular site?

My question is can anyone provide me with a secular web site or article that claims an early writing?

Cheers
JMS

Jonah 3:10
When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, He had compassion and did not bring upon them the destruction He had threatened.

when do you feel a fetus is actually a human life? this question pertains to the issue of abortion. i for one am for pro-choice. however i still feel there is a point that a person should choose to have one, if she is going to have one. i really don't see any reason in waiting any longer than a month at most to terminate pregnancy. that being said, can anyone give me any reason, other than health risks to the mother, that they feel abortion should be allowed beyond a month into the pregnancy?

If so, why? If not, what do you disagree about the Bible and why?

my boyfrind of 2 years is an atheist, and i am a christian. he always asked (no, i never brought it up) about what i believe and why. after a year he started going to church with me.
A few months ago his best friend since kindergarden did something horrible. The girl this guy was dating was a freak and had him end his old friendships. he did it over voicemail and the message was so bad my bf cried. He said my boyfriend was going to hell, was a *******loser, deserved to die, and that God was going to "strike him down" ect. They havent spoken since.
My bf has never gone to church since, and gets angry when i bring it up. He also decided he is an atheist again.
How do I explain that real Christians would never do that? How can I help him heal from that?

Seeing as Jesus wasn't a white person, do the blockbuster movies give a wrong impression? Given his background who has that background today? Who comes from the same tribe?

And do you believe in Christ?

Think about it: They believe the same things you do, plus another book that came later. And since their second book came later than the Bible, it would obviously kind of "out rank" it, in that it has newer information to go with the older information of the Bible.

Think about it: They believe the same thing you do, plus another, newer book. It's pretty much the same relationship you have to the Jews, and if you are right compared to the Jews, it seems pretty logical that the Mormons would have to be right compared to you.

After a few violation notices I decided to create a new account because the other one I use the email for other things. It would be really bad for them to ban me.

So I have reached my limit on answering questions and there are 10 min left before I can go home and I really don't know what to do with myself. And I cant thumbs up or down people which is anoying. Is there a Yahoo Answers R&S support group? I really think I need help.

I can't stop saying RAamen. I say it to everyone in work and people look at me like I am on drugs.

which other R&Ser would you most like to meet in person?

If you can't provide one, just go with as many as you need.

(I have a prediction that the two most 'elected' will be....R....and .....J)

I'm not giving the FULL names away just yet, because it may affect the answers.

Religion was very much subject to the emperor in the Roman empire (and eventually, in the Byzantine empire). Explain why the subordination of the Christian church to secular rulers was not as great in Latin Christendom. Why were rulers unable to permanently control the Church in the west?

You would think since we don't pray and therefore don't get the benefit of answered prayer, you'd be able to tell a difference when comparing the lives of atheists and believers.

On one of my questions today, I asked for examples on when a prayer was answered. I also asked for examples on how you can clearly tell that the prayer was answered. Many of you told of specific things you asked for that you received, so please don't answer this question with "we don't pray for things we want, we pray for God's will" because 80% of you were more than willing to tell me about times when you did pray for something you wanted, and got it.

Thanks!

.....Work. lol. this is funny.

The population of this country is 237 million.

104 million are retired.

That leaves 133 million to do the work.

There are 85 million in school, which leaves 48 million to do the work.

Of this there are 29 million employed by the federal government, leaving 19 million to do the work.

2.8 million are in the Armed Forces, which leaves 16.2 million work.

Take from the total the 14,800,000 people who work for State and City Governments and that leaves 1.4 million to do the work.

At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals, leaving 1,212,000 to do the work.

Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons.

That leaves just two people to do the work.

You and me.

And you're sitting at your computer reading jokes...(you can substitute this with "sitting on your computer on R&S" If you want)

Lets do this in steps.

1) Do you agree the Bible is God's Word?

2) Do you agree the verses below say God's Word will endure forever?

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

1Peter 1:25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

3) If you said yes to both of the above then do you also agree that even if the Catholics did not put together the Bible we would still have God's Word? If you disagree then do you think God lied? That His Word could not have endured without man's intervention?
