How can these Far Right goose stepping Neo Fascists call themselves Christian when in fact they behave more like a group of bigoted, hate filled Nazis. Can they seriously think their divisive, bigoted hate filled speeches is what Jesus preached? And why does the Republican party want to be asociated with these Religious Fascists?

Salvation is a super-natural work of God, can anyone please show me in the Bible where I have a right to declare salvation on anyone. I see where it's my job to share, I don't see where it's my job to declare.

It just seems to me that if God created every life form exactly as it exists today an there was no evolution...well, it seems like God was pretty sneaky about it, since he made it LOOK like things evolved.

I mean, every mammal (all of which, according to evolution, would have a common ancestor) has basically the same skeletal structure. Skull, backbone, two pairs of limbs...you'd think that if he wanted to spice things up a bit, he might have given a few critters three pairs of limbs. You know, a bird with wings, arms and feet, or something. There wouldn't be any point of sticking with the same old boring framework all the time, would there?

Then you've got things like whales and dolphins and manatees and whatnot. Sure, they've got flippers instead of hand or paws, but the skeletal framework of the limbs is still basically the same. If he just created everything, why bother with all the finger bones and such? All that did was make evolution look like a good possibility.

They knew nothing about the universe at that time, and nobody, e.g., God or Jesus, had anything to say about the scope of it all. Heaven was supposed to be where they opened the floodgates to make it rain. Doesn't that make you question the whole thing just a teensy bit? Why would anyone not question the so-called wisdom that came from those ages. I'm not disputing that there is a certain amount of wisdom in the Bible, but any philosophy or science text makes much more persuasive arguments. Is it just that you don't want to know? No mean answers please.

So...they pick and choose which parts to believe. How can they know what is real and what is not? And aren't they basically saying that not all god says is true?

If you haven't heard yet, there are some major fires in the city of San Diego - the worst case of fires that San Diego has on record. This, of course, affects me greatly, but I am more worried about the people losing their houses and so on. This is a prayer request for the safety of my fellow San Diego citizens and for the containment of the fires - there are about eight or nine of them. Thank you in advance.

I mean, if you go to eat a cow or something, at least it has a sporting chance of running away, but poor helpless defenseless broccoli is stuck there in the ground, and here come the vegans with their choppers getting ready to chomp into its poor little green head. I have read and studied a ton of writers on the subject of human consciousness. For example; Pinker, Eldeman, and many others that show how and why certain systems developed. However, those are not as comfortable when it comes to explaining the high quality functions that we are imbued with. They call it qualia and its stumps them. Love, Music, Feelings, Appreciation, Art, and so many more are not required for life to have sustained itself and continued its systems

Why do we have so much more than required for survival and evolution?

Before you all go attacking me, this is not meant as a joke or insult to those of you who are atheists! I just know of so many people who said they did not believe in God, wanted to hear nothing of Him and then when faced with their death, they wanted to know the truth and felt God leading them to come to Him and got saved! I believe it happens more than you guys on here would like to admit! Just look at it like this ..people say they don't believe in God or they just don't want to serve Him, then something really bad happens in their lives and they are running to pray!

now more than ever... so stress out depressed going through so much pain... i feel weak alone. i was never religions always had my dopth but still pray almost every night. do u really belive that ever thing in life happens for a reason? that god is just testing us no matter how hard it may seem. sumtimes i just want to give up end the pain. no one to turn to but don't want to be no sheep in a religion. i mean that by people that comes to god cause their afraid or scared. i do belieive but i think people that just go to god when their strees or need help is weak and just lying to themself. what should i do what do u think. teel me about the prombles u overcame. please tell me anyprombles.

Steve Bitterman, 60, was an instructor at Southwestern Community College in Red Oak, Iowa. Last week, he dared to tell his students that the Biblical story of Adam and Eve should not be literally interpreted. Truth is not much a part of Iowa curricula, it seems, so a handful of students who threatened legal action over his remarks in a Western Civilization class intimidated the faculty enough that the teacher was fired.

Bitterman objected, and rightly so:

The Southwestern Community College president, Barbara Crittenden, said that Bitterman taught one course at Southwest, but declined comment on his claim that he was fired specifically over the Bible reference, claiming that it was a personnel issue.

A number of Islamists on Y!A claims that everybody on this earth is a muslim. Moses was muslim, Jesus was muslim, King Solomon was muslim etc. etc.. I know I will get flack for this, and people will tell me not to talk to my son about God. So this question is directed to those who obviously don't feel that way.

I have a 3 year old and I have talked to him about God, but don't know how to explain things to him so that he will understand. He asks where God is and if He will be visiting us, things like that and I don't know how to explain it to him.
