as a western 22 yr old new convert to islam (im caucasian, american)....im wondering, if i start wearing hijab, would it be less eye-catching in the US to wear hijab but under a cute hat? i think this transition to hijab might be easier for me because i would get less stares and also b/c it would be less shocking to my christian family, but would it seem like i am rejecting islamic tradition by pairing the hijab w/ something western (by a western hat, i don't mean something stupid like a cowboy hat but rather something normal and matching)? my goal is NOT to attract attention to myself, which is the purpose of hijab. im interested in people's thoughts, serious answers only please, thanks.

p.s. i got the idea from this REALLY cute hat/hijab pic linked below:

Is sprinkling or full immersion valid? Where does it say in the bible?

I believe in full immersion. But I was baptized as a baby by sprinkling - before the age of accountability - before I could choose Christianity for myself. Now I want to go get re-baptised by immersion.

I hear a lot of Chrisitans 'frowning' on interacail marriage. Why? Moses married a Black women (Zipporra). Also, the Bible does not discourage interacail marriage. So, why do so many Christians dis-like it so much? Thanks for reading.

I have just made the decision to not believe in god and was wondering from other people who have been there, how hard the choice was for them and how they felt over the first couple of weeks.

For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. - Ecc. 9:5

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and RECEIVE his mark in his forehead, or in his hand ... he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb
And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Rev. 14:9-11

AND:

His spirit departs, he returns to the earth; In that very day his thoughts perish. Ps. 146:4

Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. Mt. 25:41

Ephesians 4: 15-16
But holding to truth in love we may grow up into Him in all things, who is the Head, Christ

Out from whom all the Body, being joined togethr and being knit together through every joint of the rich supply and through the operation in the measure of each one part causes the growth of the Body unto the building up of itself in Love"

Share something on this matter. How do you see this verse as a member of the body of Christ? How does this verse translate into your practical church experience where you meet?

Ty all for the time taken to respond:)

For my atheist friends, let's first ASSUME there IS a God. Let's take it from there...
Suppose God visits you and tells you that you have been chosen to perform a special task. You have to come up with an action plan which can help bring Christians, Jews and Muslims together in tolerance. It would be a very long-term plan but you have to take the first, meaningful step.
What would you suggest?

She has spent her last couple of questions equating a belief in God to mental retardation, and she's entitled to her opinion no matter how juvenile... but to act superior like that... does that equal the qualification of a troll? Trying to disguise an insult as a debate? Just curious if anyone else espouses her beliefs? My guess is that she has managed even her fellow atheists who tend to be a little more secure with their belief and will at least admit, they have no more answers than those who believe in God do.

why does He pray in the Garden of Gethsemane when He's bleeding from every pore? Why does He beg His Father to remove the cup from the lips if He is the Father? Why does He say "Not my will, but thine own" if they're the same person?

Just so I avoid some of the angry mobs, I know it's impossible to avoid them all, I have read the Bible, a few times, I'm just reading this part now, and I've never understood it, and I've asked different people, and they don't really answer my question, so I'm just looking for what other people think

The reason I ask is because I can't find Jesus using one. Why have we reduced the Gospel message to "repeat this prayer"?

If you were going to be killed for your beliefs in the Lord, would you still serve Him or would you deny Him?

I have heard this asked many times before among Christians and I am reminded of school shootings and other tragic events where people were asked Did they love God or believe in God and then were killed because they said yes. I can't imagine denying my Lord for any reason even if it meant me dying! I know one can never know truly till put in that position but would like to hear your thoughts! God bless you all!

During the Seventh Crusade, led by St. Louis, Yves le Breton reported how he once encountered an old woman who wandered down the street with a dish full of fire [In the Islamic version, it's a torch] in her right hand and a bowl full of water in her left hand. Asked why she carried the two bowls, she answered that with the fire she would burn up Paradise until nothing remained of it, and with the water she would put out the fires of Hell until nothing remained of them: ''Because I want no one to do good in order to receive the reward of Paradise, or from fear of Hell; but solely out of love for God.''

Today, this properly Christian ethical stance survives mostly in atheism.

As it is...it looks like they are going to support an adulterer who's been married 3 times - or a guy whose religion is even wackier than their own. And obviously neither are against killing even more people just to try and save face.

"Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee." (Revelation 3:9)

Here Jesus says the real Jews are HIS followers and the disbelieving Jews are the synagogue of Satan and are NOT THE REAL JEWS.

Jesus also promises the believers (who are now called CHRISTIANS) that the disbelievers (who are now called JEWS) will grovel at their feet as a symbol that Jesus Loves his people.

Hitler stated: "Christ was the greatest early fighter in the battle against the world enemy, the Jews... The work that Christ started but could not finish, I--Adolf Hitler--will conclude."

"Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord."
Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, Ralph Mannheim, ed., p. 65, New York: Mariner Books, 1999

“If I find a Jew to baptize, I shall lead him to the Elbe bridge, hang a stone around his neck, and push him into the water, baptizing him with the name of Avraham!.. I cannot convert the Jews. Our lord Christ did not succeed in doing so; but I can close their mouths so that there will be nothing for them to do but to lie upon the ground.” – Martin Luther

"And the founder of Christianity made no secret indeed of his estimation of the Jewish people. When He found it necessary, He drove those enemies of the human race out of the Temple of God. ---- Adolph Hitler, Mein Kampf, pp.174

Jesus did not call them Abraham's children, but a "brood of vipers" [Matt. 3:7]. Oh, that was too insulting for the noble blood and race of Israel, and they declared, "He has a demon' [Matt 11:18]. Our Lord also calls them a "brood of vipers"; furthermore in John 8 [:39,44] he states: "If you were Abraham's children ye would do what Abraham did.... You are of your father the devil. It was intolerable to them to hear that they were not Abraham's but the devil's children, nor can they bear to hear this today.------Martin Luther
