Indeed it is wrong to torture another human being. It was also wrong of the Taliban to murder the innocent in Afghanistan when the Lord Almighty gave them success over the Russians against the heaviest of odds. Had they been more humble and realized that the Lord had blessed them with freedom, and had they not gone on a rampage, others would not have come after them.

What goes around comes around. THAT is true for each of us individually as well as nations. Those who support torture will find tortures in their own lives in various forms at the right time. One will see one's loved one in some form of torture or another before one is subjected to the same, if one is good.

If one is evil and unrepentant, the Lord may not give you any warning at all and let you live happily to the very end like an animal. THAT is the worst deal one can get in my personal belief. Then you have utter damnation waiting for you for centuries, if you did not at least took off some of the load off of your soul in this life itself.

After that, only the Lord Alone knows the Whole Truth!!

If the US government is torturing people, that is evil. The Muslims who are planning the ruin of the western world, that is also evil.

Both should stop.

It would depend on whether the information obtained was used for the greater good. If it was just torture for tortures sake then I'd say yes. But if it saved the lives of a lot of people( like if it could have prevented 911) then I'd say no.

the fact that "my" government has legalized and instituted torture causes me more shame than i can express. there is mountains of evidence indicating that torture DOES NOT render good intelligence info because a torture victim will say anything to make the pain stop.

what "my" government is doing in my name is EVIL and it shames and disgusts me.
