Come to ask Jesus into their hearts on their deathbeds?
Before you all go attacking me, this is not meant as a joke or insult to those of you who are atheists! I just know of so many people who said they did not believe in God, wanted to hear nothing of Him and then when faced with their death, they wanted to know the truth and felt God leading them to come to Him and got saved! I believe it happens more than you guys on here would like to admit! Just look at it like this ..people say they don't believe in God or they just don't want to serve Him, then something really bad happens in their lives and they are running to pray!

Thanks for your thoughts everyone! This question wasn't meant to upset anyone but only to start conversation! That is what we are here for right?

Why are people giving thumbs down to this evidence?? You were all barking at her for not providing sources, so I did. You people never cease to amaze and amuse me with your arrogance.

I do NOT know of any atheists that change their minds when bad things happen to them. How many atheists do you know? I don't think this is a very reliable sample size. I also think that this is an insulting generalization (of which both Christians and atheists are guilty) and it is doubtful you will find actual, statistical data on the subject here on Y!A or anywhere else on the internet.
I wouldn't be surprised if you chose the answer that best fit your views. No doubt you'll receive quite a variety of answers...
Have a nice night.

I agree with you Jennifer. Unfortunately many did not make it to the end because no one knows when is their last day. Only God knows. God gives HIs love freely to anyone who seek Him, sadly not many wish to receive but choose to live their own way instead. For those who believe in Him will find life and peace.
Keep it up!
May God bless you.

I have known many atheists that did not call for a god on their death beds. I think you would like to believe your statement, atheists are not concerned with other atheists accepting a god in the end, why would we? We only toil with xians because many try & force their beliefs so we, the atheists have a shared interest in correcting it. Otherwise, most of us are not concerned how eachother live regarding beliefs or much else.

IF that happens at all it happens for the same reason you believe in God now. Reward and consequences. You want to believe that if you are a good person you will see your loved ones again in a perfect place. You want to believe that there is more to life. It's all about emotions, not facts. Atheists probably get emotional before they die, I don't blame them.
Anyways, Life is the gift, not heaven.

The belief in an afterlife and higher being has evolved to cushion us from the harsh reality of our utter doom and annihilation. So why not go peacefully, albeit with a distorted worldview, if it makes you content and happy,...then more power to you.

An atheist, going christian, and finding god?? Well, I think that is kind of like, a Gay person going straight! And living happily ever after!
It just isn't going to happen!

It doesn't happen as often as the dissapointment created after a christian prays and the prayer is not answered. a person praying after something bad happens to them has a better chance of becoming an atheist because god didn't answer.........dont worry i'm not attacking...that is sooooo christian to attack

Unless you are a hospice nurse like me, I doubt you're in any position to know all these people who converted on their deathbed. I've never known one, and I've watched a lot of people die.

Zero. Atheists don't believe in Jesus. Is there any circumstance under which Christians would beg leprechauns for help? Same thing.
