This is a serious question, not a malicious one.

It seems to me that many atheists (not all) hold science to be the only form of genuinely true knowledge. Science in this case being that which can be measured, weighed, observed, tested, etc. (Philosophically it is called empiricism).

However, it seems to me that those whom claim this are not aware of the contradiction they are making. To claim: "science is the only valid or true form of knowledge" is not itself scientific claim. We cannot put the value of scientific knowledge itself "under a microscope" as it were. We cannot evaluate the value of scientific knowledge itself, in any material way. Don't those whom hold that scientific knowledge is the only valid form onf knowledge necessarily exclude the value of scientific knowledge by their strict restriction of "valid" or "true" knowledge?

Thoughts?

We are the only ones with no children, and each week the sign up sheet comes via email for each thing to sign up for, Opening prayer,Closing Prayer,Worship,Lesson,Kids and Snack. I am feeling pressured to watch the kids, the house we meet in is very small so we get stuck in a small bedroom with all the kids, am I wrong for not wanting to watch them?

When we ask an antheist that what makes you different from other people, her/his answer would be : because of my genetic( because they don't believe in soul)

Now what about the twins who really look like each other and they have exactly the same genetic but we still can see lots of differences between them.
Now what makes this twins different? can you say the genetic?

I have been reading through the answers on the forums, and everytime I click on a question about islaam, all I see is hate. Christians say that they love and God is love, but I don't see love, all I see is hate. I am muslim, and when I see other muslims commenting, I see some patience. Why are the people who are supposed to be so religious so hateful?

Do you worship the President or the Prime Minister or the Leaders in your Country, or do just you listen to them, and do you call them Gods or do you show respect to your Leaders?

No? then neither do Catholics towards the Pope, he is our leader in the Church, he is not God and we do not worship him
We respect the Pope as our leader

Can you tell me what the difference is?

I really think they should split up the religions, and not make it religion and spirituality. I ask a question regarding Wiccan, and I'm told I'm going to hell. DUH! I don't beleive in hell, or evil, or satan. I was Christian for 25 years, then decided to switch to Wicca. I don't agree with a lot of the stuff in the Bible, and you are also not going to "save" me on yahoo answers. Leave other religions be, and let them exercise their right to free speach and let them learn their own path without being brainwashed.
The Bible says doing good deeds all the time will not get you into heaven, beleiving in God does though. So why do you feel that since you had some "EMOTIONAL" experience that everyone else is wrong but you? DUH! And bring on the hate responses, you won't hurt my feelings. And please don't pray for me, I manifest my own desires. Have fun begging for yours! Meany's!

Now let's look at the issue of Mary's sinless nature. Consider that when the angel addresses Mary at the annunciation, the greeting is almost a name change:

"Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women" (Luke 1:28, KJV).

Mary (Miriam in Hebrew) means "beloved." In biblical times a person's name reflected what they were. Name changes have great theological significance in the Bible and this is almost as if her name is being changed from "beloved" to "thou that art highly favored." Since this is before Jesus has.........http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-S6YMuFYyaa9ESBoW5DFwEjL_HhqA?p=102

I am a believer in Jesus Christ, and an active member of my local church.. I am suspicious that the kind of Christmas celebration the school is preparing involves Santa Claus, a Christmas tree, etc... in summary, NOTHING TO DO with the real spirit of Christmas celebration, which is our Lord Jesus Christ and the the message of the Gospel... The problem is that this celebration to be held DURING SCHOOL HOURS opens the door to other religious celebration in the school (Muslim, Hindu, Jew, etc.) DURING SCHOOL HOURS.... I would rather prefer NOT TO CELEBRATE RELIGIOUS HOLIDAYS AT SCHOOL BECAUSE IMAGINE HOW MUCH TIME WE SHOULD HAVE TO INVEST JUST FOR RELIGIOUS CELEBRATIONS (IN A SECULAR SCHOOL) IF ANY RELIGIOUS GROUP WOULD LIKE TO CELEBRATE THEIR OWN HOLIDAYS DURING SCHOOL HOURS... NO TIME FOR MATHEMATICS, PHYSICS, ETC.

They didn't keep perfect records of every event, but they kept decent records,so you would think an event like The Exodus would at least get a mention.

I'm not saying they didn't escape Egypt, that much is obvious. Whether they were simply freed,or escaped as groups over time, but clearly Exodus is a Huge exaggeration of whatever events finally led to their freedom.

I was taught that a mediator is one that mediates, especially one that reconciles differences between disputants.

Well then what does Jesus mean when He says "There is One God and One Mediator between God and Men, the Man Christ Jesus?

If you currently possess a TV, computer, music stereo, games console or a bunch of them, I ask why? Doesn't Luke 12:33 say you should donate them to charity to the needy?

This isn't an "attack" on everyone here. This is to the likes of Aleey and other bible-quoters who seem happy enough to let the bible do the talking for them yet ironicly enough online with their own computers. If you guys are soooo good at reading the bible and pointing out fickle things like how the bible says homosexuality is wrong, or that you have faith in God, or you interpret the bible as being THE word, then do Luke 12:33. Sell your computers for a start, make an African kid happy.

I await the excuses.

Ok, I scanned through the old testament a few times and didn't like what I read. (It was from a Catholic bible.) But then I talked to people who claimed to be Jewish online and that they said was way different from what I read. So did the Catholic "good news" bible change the testament to match their views? Or did I miss a few passages? If they did change it then where can I find a proper copy of the writtens?

Question two-Whats a kitchen witch and what are some non "witch craft" forms of paganism? I don't not much about paganism but I would like to.
