I think we are misunderstood. The word "atheist" has such a negative connotation in our society. I feel I have an obligation to respond to the misconceptions about atheists. People often believe we are cold-hearted nihilists but that couldn't be farther from the truth. We just don't believe in supernatural deities. Also, I want to challenge the religious to take a serious look at religion with an open mind. I feel that religion is divisive and is the sole reason for some terrible things that go on in the world. Morality is not derived from religion. To elaborate on my point, I use the bible as an example. There is some awful barbarism in the bible but people pick and choose what in the bible is good. That makes us the judge of what is right and wrong. Therefore, it would follow that there must be an innate sense of right and wrong that is universal - not derived from religion.

I am not an atheist, but I would seriously like to know if on your version of Yahoo answers this section is called "Religious and Spiritual People" because on mine, it's called religion and spirituality, which means it's open to ANYONE wanting questions or answers that are religious or spiritual, regardless of their beliefs.

If you are interested in going to a website for religious and spiritual PEOPLE, I recommend beliefnet.com. There, you will find sections that are limited to those who agree with the religious beliefs of moderators who rule little boards like fiefdoms.

If you still do not understand why this question is nonsense, ask yourself the following:
Do you have to BE a car to POST in CARS?

I went with the latter because of the fact I had began to have doubts with God's existence. --- I also have a query approximately question C. Are you asserting that God solutions your questions? because of the fact each and every time i've got ever tried to wish, I never have been given a reaction. Please answer if conceivable.

Some atheists are angry at people who believe in any kind of religion and come around just to bash whatever they believe in. But other people just want to understand, or have an intellectual curiosity in religion.
And i dont think you can convert someone to atheism, its more like a de-convert if anything.

I come to see if anyone (other than athesists) make a good point about something. Then I think it over and give my two cents. I try to see how other people visualize spiritualism / religion (and not be ignorant about it). I test myself to see how I feel about the subject, so in turn I will better understand others and the religious choices they make.

I hardly think that ALL of us go directly to that section upon clicking on this website.

Most of them usually answer the ones that are on the main page and interest them.

You can't convert someone to atheism. You either believe or you don't. For those who claim that they've been converted are lying through their teeth.

Atheists do not belive in dieties, therefore, someone who claims to have changed USED to believe once before. And they can't have a sudden change of heart like that. A small part of them will always believe that there is a god.

I come here because this section is a fabulous source of psychological study... People readily give their point of view and their reasoning behind that point of view..

It is easy to set forth a view that causes others to run through the maze like rats and I get to watch...

I also find it interesting to watch people question and defend their beliefs especially when they are so clearly delusional in the methods..

Religion and spirituality are subjects. You don't have to be religious to discuss religion and spirituality as subjects.
