This is because most Christians only read passages their parents or pastors tell them to. Chances are they never even read it. I'm not defecting them just pointing out that they do this because they don't know better.

Luke 12:33-34 "Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
The way you word your question sounds like an 'attack" to me.
I mean really. Are you a good person?
Have you ever used God's name as a cuse word? If you have used His name as a cuse word, then your a blasphmer.
Have you ever commited murder? I'm sure your answer is no. Jesus warned, "Whoever is angry with his brother without cause, is in danger of judgement." (Matthew 5:22) and the Bible says, "He who hates his brother is a murderer." (1 John 3:15) God see's hatered in the heart as wicked as murder. If you have done this, it makes you a murder.
Have you ever looked upon another person with lust? Who hasn't? Jesus says, "But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." If you have done this it makes you an adulterer.
Have you ever stolen anything, (even if it was something small)? The value of the thing stolen doesn't matter, petty theft, is still theft. Have you ever taken anything from anyone else, (from the office, school, parents, etc.)? If you have that makes you a thief.
Have you ever told a lie? Then you are a lier. How many murders do you have to commit to make you a murder? Just one. If you have told even one lie that makes you a lier. The Bible warns that all liers will have their part in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 21:8) You may not think that decietfulness is a serious sin, but God does.
Who of us can say we are not guilty of breaking these Commandments?
This is what the Bible means when it says, "ALLHAVE SINNED and fall short of the glory of God."
Can you see your predicament? You are guilty of sinning against God Himself, and, because you have a conscience (con-with, science-knowledge) you have sinned "with knowledge".
Isn't it true that everytime you lied, stole or lusted, you knew it was wrong?
Does the fact that you have sinned against God scare you? It should.
You have actually angered Him by your sin.
The Bible says His wrath abides upon you, that you are an "enemy of God" in your mind through wicked works.
Perhaps you think God is good and because He is good He will overlook your sins?
But if you knew of a human judge who turned a blind eye to the crimes of a guilty rapist... would you describe him as a "good" judge?
No.
That would be a "corrupt" judge.
God could never be a corrupt judge. He will punish all rapists, murders, and thieves... But He won't stop there. He will also punish all liers, the lustful, adulterers, idoloters, and blasphemers.
The place of eternal punishment is Hell.
God does not want you to perish. He is rich in mercy and compassion, and has provided a way for you to be forgiven. He has invited you to come to Him for a full pardon and recieve the free gift of eternal life. You cannot earn it, you do not deserve it, but God has offered it to you as proof of His love for you.
Romans 5:8 " But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Galatians 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”
Do you see God's great love for you? Do you see the need for His forgiveness?

If i was to say "So what ever your religion is" you would probably hiss and scream about how bad i was and how bad whatever my religion was...Its really quite sad that you have nothing better to do then sit at your computer and down a religion. And if your so pissed about us not giving, sell your blasted computer. But i see your apparently still on it. And the bible is interpreted differently everywhere...you can take that as my "excuse" for your lack of understanding.

What's an African kid going to do with a computer? Do they have electric?
Seriously, I could give 12,547 to the poor, it wouldn't make homosexuality right. Don't get me wrong I have friends that are homosexuals, and attend church with homosexuals, and love them dearly. Just like they love me in spite of all my hangups.
I guess what I'm trying to say is I don't know who Aleey is, and I am a "bible quoter" in this forum, yet I love her and you, I just don't love the squabble you and them are involved in here. If you get my point.

I am sure Luke 12:33 says nothing about tv, computer, music stereo and game consoles
He was talking to his apostles who did give up everything. They had a message to spread. This can be done now without giving everything away.

That's find and dandy, but how would anybody be able to preach the gospel online if everyone sold their computer to someone else? Like it or not, there are real people that will read internet text as long as it exists, and thus there must also be some text to warn them of their error.

If I use this computer to earn money to feed my children should I let them starve to sell my computer to feed someone in Africa? I don't think Luke would.

God is not commanding Christians to sell everything, he's just saying that following God is more important than worldly possessions.
