The prophecy I meant was when Jesus said to James and John in Mark 10:39, "Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized". In this he meant presumably the martyrs death. James' death is recorded by the jewish historian Josephus, and I think was considered to have been in 62 ad.

Bob L, we dont really know if John was the last of the apostles to die. By the nature of Revelation, it is very much a 'jewish' book and seems most likely to have been written during the time when the Jews were at the forefront of God's plan.

If he had been is seems a reasonably safe bet that his martyrdom would have been rcorded in Acts. The demise of one of the twelve disciples would have been seen as a fairly significant event in the early church.

Haven't you heard what the Fundies say? If its not in the Bible then it ain't true. That means that John is wrinkled up somwhere in bed right now, celebrating his 2040th birthday. LOL

The Apostle John's death is not recorded.............

Jesus said "What is it to you if he lives?" Meaning, don't worry about everyone else - you do what I say for you..

Peter died a martyr's death.................and Jesus told him he would. Peter then asked what would happen to John..............typical of all of us.

No because if you look at when certain books in the bible were written and what order. Paul wrote before Jesus existed.
