There is something about true beauty that goes beyond the physical symmetry of a face or form. What do you think this is?

I feel it what is inside that person. You can call it spirit, soul or whatever you like. The "goodness" of a person has an energy to it and that energy shines out of a persons eyes and has a quality about it.
I have had many examples in my own life and seen it in my children's lives as they were growing up. The most wonderful relationships amongst my children is between one of my daughters and her boyfriend They have been together four years now. The relationship she had before this one was a disaster. He was a handsome, swave, elegant man who inside, was dishonest, fearful, angry etc. The man she is with now, well you definitely wouldn't call him the best looking man in the world! He does not relate to the type of man she was looking for all the years she was growing up.
B, as I will call him is the nicest, happiest, giving, loving compassionate person I have ever met. He absolutely loves my daughter and I have never in my life, met two people who laugh so much together, enjoy each other so much and are strung together at the hip. They love each other so much and yet at the same time they both have their invidividual freedom to take time to do the things they love.
When they are together you are smiling all the time, because they are so very happy. I would never have picked this man out of a line up, for her, because I would have thought they would never have been happy because of their outward differences. However, I am thankful every day that this man's true beauty, which is beyond the physical symmetry you mention, is giving my daughter the joy that I know is going to last a lifetime. It is an energy that comes from the spirit and it is there within all of us, but how many of us really cling to that part of us, and become who we really are.
Beauty IS only skin deep, the deeper you go the more beauty you see.

A truly beautiful person is one who is able to give and receive love. When I speak about love, I mean it in every and all forms. Sometimes love can be difficult and tough. The beautiful person will always face it and love accordingly.

What ever it is in mankind, that makes a person give of themselves is beauty. Compassion and love, tenderness and giving are beauty. I once heard a make up artist say that a smile is the greatest "beauty aid".

The perfect mix of inner beauty and outer beauty. It's mostly the personality though, how nice they are...intelligent, just having an overall good attitude.

A person whom has respect for others, does not condemn others thoughts though they may differ from their own, give practical advice, helps people when they need it, is not selfish
treats animals with care and love. teaches children what they need to know for the future.

For just as one man's trash is another man's treasure, so what is considered "beauty" to one person, may not be to another.

the character of a person....is what makes a person beautiful, not the outside beauty, makeup, jewlry...none of that it's the character of the person everyody is made differently and many are uniqe.....judge a person by it's character...

Hmmm.. I think its what Brandon said.. genuineness. If a person seems to me to be genuinely friendly, good-hearted, and interested in what I have to say, then they are beautiful to me.
