I know evolution is a theory, what about religion? And if they are both theories then why don't people choose the one that has more evidence to back it?

It seems that many of those who claim to be ex-atheists (excluding Pangel) never had any exposure to religion beforehand.

Is religion for them like their first dong and they fall in love with the stud that it is attached to?

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.Attitude,to me, is more important than the past, than education, thanmoney, than cicumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do.It's more important than appearance, giftedness,or skill. It will make or break a company...a church..a home. The remarkable yhing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.We cannot change our past...we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one thing we have, and that is our attitude....I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90%how I react to it.And so it is with you.....We are in charge of our ATTITUDES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok first off...If what people say about "Adam and Eve" is true then wouldn't that mean we're all imbred? And if so isn't that another form of lust (which is considered a major sin or w/e)??

And if both of those are true wouldn't that be like Christianity going against itself and saying we're all sinning anyways!?

Why did God punish mankind? I thought it was just a few guys who built the tower. And why did he create different races? He must have known that racism would ensue. Doesn't make more sense that humans adapt to their environments?

Should I be worried about that?

We have been dating, and there is no question we would be engaged by now if she wasn't so stubborn about accepting the gospel into her heart. This is one of her few weak traits. She is very gracious and giving, you wouldn't even know she was an atheist by just talking to her.

I really need to let her know in a heart to heart that I think she is going to hell.

Any suggestions on how to bring up this topic? I may be a warrior for Christ, but I do wish to use a "sword of mercy" in this case.

Damn I just think old people are f*ing adorable!
When I'm old I'm gonna shake my fist in the air at all the young whipper snappers. I'm gonna steal lots of stuff and if I get caught just act all confused and old and 'what's going on, are you my grandson?' How will you be when you are old? Will you be a quiet reflecting senior with lots of old stories or will you be a bitter senior that runs over peoples' feet with your rascal?

Replace the body of Christ with rice paper, the blood of Christ with wine, and put up scatological depictions of Jesus being tortured? And then, as if that wasn't blasphemous enough, they light all the church candles on fire?

How could anyone do that? It's so sick.

Grown men who are fundamentalist Christians, it is a dark and stormy night and in a dream up pops what can only be described as a sexual liaison with another guy. It is natural; it happens to many straight males. If they remember the dream at all, most guys take it for what it is, yet another strange dream. But...but being so caught up in matters of sex and faith, do you wake up in fear that, because of your gay sex dream, you have sinned and bound to burn in hell for all eternity?

Short simple answer: Protestants equate prayer and worship. So, when they see a Catholic praying to Mary, they think we are worshipping her.

Of course, thoughtful people know that this is ridiculous. Prayer is NOT worship. Prayer is a "request". When we pray to those who have gone to heaven ahead of us, we are making a "request" of them. And what is that request? It is that THEY pray for US. Protestants do it all the time, but they limit themselves to making this request only of people still on earth. In this, the protestant view of the Church is very narrow-minded. You see, Romans 8: 38-39 says: "neither death nor life... ...neither the present nor the future.. ..neither height nor depth, nor anything else.. ..will be able to separate us". The Family of God transcends death. We ALL LIVE IN CHRIST.

Hebrews 12: 22-24 says that as we approach God, Jesus and the angels, we also approach "the spirits of righteous men made perfect". In other words, THE SAINTS

Is the Bible really the word of Satan?

I have noticed that a lot of the hate on here involves (in one way or another) a minority of Christians. This minority always seem to be the ones that back up their sometimes hateful and hurtful claims with Bible scriptures.

Yet there is a much more peaceful and loving section of Christians who do not (usually) quote the Bible, and claim to follow Jesus' example (or indeed, have a more direct relationship with God, also without the Bible).

I'm led to believe that the Bible makes people become more xenophobic, while those that follow Christ's example are altogether setting a better example of what Christianity is.

So could it be that the Bible is not truly the word of God, but actually the word of Satan?

I was doing some reading on the net in regard to the idea of Noah taking dinosaurs on the ark - which I don't believe at all, by the way, but I was interested in researching the reasoning behind the idea.

I came across a Web site which proclaims the following:

"We know that dinosaurs were alive at the time since they were fossilized during the Flood, many in active poses suggesting fear of their impending doom and horrific realization, however faint and dinosaurish, of their God-displeasing wickedness."

How do animals sin? How are animals God-displeasing? Can anyone who believes this is true explain this idea?

All answers and thoughts are welcome.

Here is the address for the Web site:
