And it is We Who have constructed the heaven with might, and verily, it is We Who are steadily expanding it. (Qur'an, 51:47)

I have just seen someone say it again and I have seen it in the past many times
" God only hears the prayers of those who are saved "

then how on earth can a non believer become a believer ?
how can God/Jesus come into the hearts of those who are seeking if their prayers are not answered ?
I do not understand this

does this mean that God doesnt know everything ?

seriously, why do theists take it so personally when they find that facts differ from a book that is totally saturated with parables and stories whose primary purpose is to teach a moral code?

why modify some parts (stoning for blasphemy for instance) that are CLEARLY unable to be enforced today and unjust, but completely disregard a theory that is supported by evidence when it doesn't detract from your beliefs at all?

If I believed in god- then isn't it a logical step to see evolution and the big bang as simply the method which god created the earth or animals?

is it really that it offends or you see it as "negating" your religious beliefs or simply that you don't understand it and are against it because your parents were or the propoganda of your church tells you to?

what is it that keeps you from looking at evolution as the transmission as god's method or the big bang as the working components of the factory that produces silly putty?

For example, to better help you understand the question.

Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Romans 12:15 - 1 Kings 20:28

Saul was very angry; this refrain galled him. "They have credited David with tens of thousands," he thought, "but me with only thousands. What more can he get but the kingdom?" (1 Samuel 18:8)

This statement caused something to snap in King Saul. From this point on, Saul was never the leader God intended him to be. He allowed insecurity to drive his every decision. Insecurity leads to the need to control people and circumstances. The need to control leads to anger once we realize we are unable to control the circumstance. King Saul could not accept, much less rejoice, over David's success.

As an atheist, I notice the flaws in religious arguments more than in atheist ones. So I'm wondering if anyone can give an example of circular reasoning that atheists commonly employ?

That does not make any damn sense. Can Satan entice the heavenly father to do wrong with the promise of gain or pleasure? Most people would say of course not, he`s God. Satan cannot tempt God. Well then how did he tempt Jesus if Jesus is supposedly God?

Shouldn't scientists do that? The majority of scientists believe in God.

Just wondering but why is it that most people that are against global warming are christians? I mean why would they even want to fight the belief that it's real? I guess I just don't understand why these people who love Jesus and Love the bible so much would go to so much trouble and be so evil about denying it? Don't they think that if god created this earth he'd want us to start taking better care of it..Seriously I just don't get why they don't want to believe in it..Can anyone explain it to me? I'm sure I'll get a couple rude answers from these people out there but just explain why your so against it please.

I asked a question moments ago stating in the details that I believe in evolution (and am an atheist) but had considered sending my children to Christian school because my boyfriend is Christian and they may offer a better education. (Note: I said 'considered'.)

I received this response:

'They do let people know what nonsense is out there. I'm sure schools of all sorts do.

You know your boss didn't handle Himself well maybe but I would listen to him. Don't send your kid to a Christian school if they are not being taught at home. The others will suffer.

Christian schools have strict guidelines. They memorize verses (I'm sure to your horror) they have chapel, and focus around why we do things and not other things. It is a cleaner environment You will not here the f word and cuss words. If you curse at home and your kid is exposed to all kinds of junk there will be nothing of interest for them there.'
