For example, to better help you understand the question.

Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Romans 12:15 - 1 Kings 20:28

Saul was very angry; this refrain galled him. "They have credited David with tens of thousands," he thought, "but me with only thousands. What more can he get but the kingdom?" (1 Samuel 18:8)

This statement caused something to snap in King Saul. From this point on, Saul was never the leader God intended him to be. He allowed insecurity to drive his every decision. Insecurity leads to the need to control people and circumstances. The need to control leads to anger once we realize we are unable to control the circumstance. King Saul could not accept, much less rejoice, over David's success.

David's life would never be the same, because Saul sought to kill David every chance he had. Saul had a choice; he could have seen David as an up-and-coming general in his army who could have become an important part of his team and made the kingdom of Israel even stronger. Instead, he looked at him as a threat.

When you hear good news about fellow workers or associates, do you rejoice with them? If you find yourself comparing your life's circumstances to others and don't feel you measure up, recognize that this is one of satan's greatest ploys to destroy you.

Christ has given you all things in Him. He has a unique plan for you that cannot be compared to another. He alone is your security. Trust in the purposes He has for your life. And remember, "My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus" (Phil. 4:19 KJV).

I agree with this WHOLEHEARTEDLY.

I believe that insecurity flows from a heart that is not right. The person translates their insecurity into some desire that has to be filled. The desire becomes a NEED. The need becomes a DEMAND. The demand births expectation and the failure to meet it births disappointment and punishment either turned outward towards others, or inward on themselves.
When turned inward I believe that it clouds our mind. You know the scripture that says God did not give you a spirit of fear but of peace, love and a sound mind? That sound mind and peace is threatened when insecurity rules your heart. Thus you are unable to see clearly except through the tainted vision of your own desires. Its as though you have made an idol of your own desires and they rule over you. So, if those feelings rule your heart..and it is out of the abundance of your heart that you speak...edification will not flow from your lips...anger, jealousy and insecurity will.

Conquering insecurity to ME..is about replacing your own desires(idols) and giving God that most High place in your heart.

Jealousy Is a sin. I rejoice when someone I know receives a blessing. If we don't know who we are In God then I guess we could lose our joy and fall Into this trap by the enemy.

I suppose insecurity, like pride, causes us to focus more on ourselves than on God. In other words, we are looking more to ourselves than is necessary or healthy. Nothing good can come of such a situation. Like Peter who sunk in the water when he took his eyes away from Christ, we need to keep our eyes on Him. He reveals to us the very nature of humanity, our purpose, our beauty and destiny in fellowship with God.

moses focused on his lack of speaking ability, gideon on his weaknesses, esther on hers as well, and we at times are guilty of the same. it is in those times of weakness that his strength is perfect and we realize when he allows us to accomplish something for his glory it wasn't really us that did the work or made it successful but it was Him that made it work and that worked through us. we are not to look on ourselves the way the world expects us to or the way the world even looks at us but to ask God to show us our reflection in the mirror of His word and in turn be doers and not hearers only. when we focus on our weekness, we detract from his greatness. when we focus on our inability it is near impossible to see God's divinity in the situation. it is our place to focus on him and have faith in him and he will fill us with the insight we need.
