Example, please?

*edit* I don't read additional details either, so you could be, oh I don't know, shaking your fist or something similar, but I wouldn't know about it.

I'm not sure I understand why either this question or the embedded one were put in Religion & Spirituality.

Yes, I read the details unless they go one for more than a screen, or they make no sense at all. But I must admit that I get annoyed at the people who put questions like your embedded one up, that you see the question and then the details (which you only see when you click on the question) actually demonstrate that the question was deceptive. OK in Jokes and Riddles, but doesn't make much sense here.

Is it really so hard to condense a question down to fit on the "banner" question line? You can certainly use the "details" section to say some variation on "By that I mean . . ." if you need to. Or use it to give enough facts to show the context of the question, or a link to details that are relevant. But this hook 'em attitude toward the question is just annoying. I end up spending time reading a question that is not relevant, or failing to recognize one that would interest me if the banner provided enough material.

Personally I read everyhting, but a few Answers back I miss the fact this girl was talking about her "X" boyfriend. So my answer didn't make all that much sense. The Main Question is usualy the thing that catches my eye and drags me into answering a Question in the first place. :) HAVE FUN..

I'll read the details if it's not too long.

I thought it was pretty annoying seeing all the people who didn't read the details on that question.

What if the question is ridiculously long? I didn't read your details so I don't know if you addressed that or not.

if it's under 4 lines or formulates the math problem to be solved, I'll read it

it depends how long it is and how much time i have. if I can't read it all i usually don't answer it. kind of hard to give advice if you don't know all the facts.
