Recent evolution-based studies suggest that people came from marine invertebrates—If this were true, the fossil record should document the amusing sea-creature-to-people transition. wouldn't it?

Why are there second hand stories of this happening, but when a Christian proselytizes a family member and is rebuffed, it doesn't happen?

Also, I saw the words "Wal-Mart" glowing through the night. Was this a sign?

( they do not believe in Trinity ) and yet they believe that Jesus is "a god" among other gods ( that is polytheistic view ), Jesus is an archangel Michael, Jesus is a man, Jesus is a son of God and Jesus is also Savior?

True Christians believe that there is only one true God and there are no other gods.

Here's the situation: My brother, who is on disability and struggling to make it in this world, used to go to church. He was tithing 10%. My brother got overly mad at his Pastor, and quit going to church when the Pastor and his family went to Hawaii for two weeks.

I think my brother's point of view is that he strives to tithe, and here is Pastor, taking my poor brother's 10% of his entire measely income to go on a vacation. My brother will never get to experience Hawaii, let alone any vacation of any sort.

Is this a lame excuse for my brother to stop going to church, or does he have a point here?

I know; there's too many "he's" and "him's." I tried my best to make this clear.

Thank you to my fellow Christians.

And view the Body of Christ over this earth?
Because of all that has happened over the centuries, with all the division that has occured that had a way of dividing us and labelling us according to a certain dogma or practice how has this impacted on the way you discern, view, care for, cherish, defend and protect the Body of Christ.
When we see another christian in person do we ask them " which chruch do you go to" first? Or do we just love this person because the One that we love.. This Jesus Christ , is indwelling this one. That you both share the same Heavenly Father and are One through the same Holy SPirit. This is a very sobering matter that I want to put forward to all my dear brothers and sisters here. Please share from your heart on this matter.
Thank You so much for taking the time to open up in this way.
Your sister in Christ

Jesus was sowing the Original "Word of God" in the Parable of the Sower. Luke 8:11

And since the New Testament did not exist at that time, would you trade your Word of God and Paul's teachings of sacrifice for sins for the Original Word of God that Jesus was actually sowing?

I was having an argument with my Christian friend last night and she said that atheism has caused people to do all sorts of evil things and I asked her to name one. She said that atheists fed the early Christians to lions.

Now i'm not disputing that Christians were fed to the lions, but I am questioning whether it was the atheists who did it or some other religious people. do any of you know? please forgive my ignorance, i haven't taken a history class on ancient history yet.

this is just a hypothetical question cos I'm genuinely interested in your answers! I am a Christian but I'm not here to judge, I just want to know what people think and feel...

1) What is it about God that you find difficult to comprehend? Even God said that there's some things we won't be able to understand until we get to heaven!

2) Have you at any time prayed? A time when you were frightened or worried? But nonetheless, you still prayed? And if so, who were you praying to??

3) Do you ever wonder if there is a God? Because our bodies are so amazingly intricate, surely something more must've created us than a big explosion?

I love God - I'm not here to judge at all, I'm here to love and try and help people if they want it. Christians who shove things in peoples face and bible bash aren't exactly helping the situation so I'm with you!

Then why do you expect me to seek answers in a book of bronze age mythology?
See where I'm going with this?
Why would you rely on ancient myths and fairy tales, when humanity has come so very far in the areas of science, medicine and technology? Why can't you let go of your backwards dietary restrictions (pork is now safe enough to eat with pink in the middle) or legends about a "son" who "walks on water" (in fact the myth of jesus is stolen verbatim from the myth of Horus the "Sun" god who "walked on water" twice a day; sunrise and sunset.
So please, if you MUST have an intellectual crutch, go ahead. But do NOT think for a moment that anyone with an IQ higher than their shoe size and an education above the 4th grade will consider your cult to be anything but a backwards set of morality tales set down by mysoginistic old men living in monasteries a thousand years ago. K?

For one thing, they go through life believing that all of their suffering will be rewarded and that all of the wrong they endure will be either punished or wiped away by the repentance of the wrongdoer.

For another thing, they'll never know the fact that they're wrong, but we'll never know that we're right.

No wonder Christianity is so appealing to people. You get a sense of justification, when you feel like the world is completely screwed you can just believe that it's transitory anyway and you never have to realize the fact that you're wrong. And here we atheists have to simply deal with the fact that people can be basically evil and there's nothing that can change that.

I wish I could be a Christian, but I've lost the ability to lie to myself.

So do you think that Christians have it better than us in some ways?

Yes, I went THERE. :P Seriously, though...no offense to any Christians.

I am aware that lots of people say I don't believe in God, because there is no evidence of his existence. However, these same people rarely describe what evidence they would expect to find. I.e. what evidence would convince you of God's existence?

Here are a few options

- a label under the earth saying 'made by God, hands off!'?

- a divine revelation of God to the entire planet?

- a perfect working creation with no problems/diseaeses

- God revealing himself to every individual personally?

- God revealling himself to certain individuals

Or whatever else you can think of?

Please answer seirously!

Next period, I have biology class. (right now I'm in computer class don't tell the teacher lol!) Were starting to learn about evoultion and there are some christians who get to sit out of the class.

this really doesn't seem fair to me. i mean, even if it goes against their beliefs shouldn't they have to learn it if its accepted science. they don't have to believe it. and it's not fair that it doesnt effect their grades. If I fail this section I'll get a bad grade in the class, yet they all pretty much fail this section because they don't do any of the assignments or the tests.

Also:: I know that a lot of Christians think the earth is younger than science says, so are they allowed to sit out of the geology section too?

yesterday I told my geometry teacher that I don't believe in the pythagorean theorm so I needed to sit out of class. He wasn't amused.

What do you think? Should Christians be allowed to sit out? If they don't like it shouldn't they go to a private school??

Protestants defend the whole sola fide thing with a number of passages. I believe Jesus died for my sins and that I coundnt do it for myself through good works.

So are good works evidence of a changed life or do they contribute. Jesus does mention differing rewards in heaven.

Im just confused about some of the verses like "a gift from god so no man can boast"

Now I know it will fall on deaf ears but I really dont need to hear from a load of undeducated anti-catholic knuckleheads (but I know I will)

I don't have any intensions on doing this and I do not even think about it as it revolting.
But it has came to my attension that necrophiilia is not mentioned in the Bible. There is no punishement for this either.
So does this mean you are allowed to do this in the eyes of God? As he has not mentioned it as being a sin.
As I said this is repulsive subject matter and do not or wish to partake in this activity.
Please do not take offence to this question, I would like to see what you think about this?
Is this proof that God is not perfect like most people think?

The Preacher at the Church I attend preaches that after all of the true believers are taken up to Heaven, there is going to be a time of Tribulation. and during this time it will be possible for those who haven't accepted Christ to get saved and go to heaven. but at the same time he preaches that all of those who have died in the past were either sent to Heaven or sent to Hell. this doesn't make sense to me. why would god give some a second chance and not give others a second chance?
