Good enough for me.

Of course Jesus is qualified to declare the way to God, but it seems you are guilty of what you accuse others of, ie verbal camouflage, as the real issue is that it denies all who believe in other religions access to God . That is not what their faith tells them and thats not a question of tolerance, but basically war.

Agreed.

Most people have not ventured into Christianity enough to validate the claim. The proof is in the experience. Many do not agree simply because of the exclusivity.

There is a living God who has made a way for us to be forgiven for our sins and restored into a personal, dynamic relationship with Him. It is only by His love and mercy toward us by the new covenant He has made through Jesus Christ that we can come and truly know Him.

Christians hope that one day they will find this truth and enter into a new life with Him.

I believe that the only way to God is through Jesus. What others may, or may not, believe is their decision to make and no amount of "verbal camouflage" (I like that) is going to sway me. I can say it because I have exceptional reason for believing it. If others disagree, so be it. Subscribing to a principle and adhering to it does not necessarily make one intolerant.

There's always John 14:6.

As far as the loud, sophisting jerks.... you have to understand- people who hate God and insult Him are fools. If you read the Proverbs you will find the characteristics of fools scattered all about. You'll also find the descriptions match those of atheists with startling precision.

Even worldly wisdom points to these people being fools- not only for their idiotic sentiments that they defend to teh hilt, but their brash loudness, self-importance, and incredible arrogance to think that they can, in five seconds of throw-away musing, overcome mysteries that have cfhallenged the world's greatest minds for millenia.

I guess the dwarfed and dull minds of our man AREN'T challenged by this question. They just dismiss it in utter folly, and that's that.

There is a hitch in your giddyup: God is just. So, that means, (to me) God will save those he chooses in what ever way he chooses. I believe that Jesus is A way. And though I claim the Christian faith as my own, I do not believe he is THE way.

I believe Jesus is the easiest way to get to heaven. There are harder ways.

But hey... that is just me.

But do me a favor and don't blast me for my beliefs, okay? I've always been courteous to everyone else on that count (non-believers, pagans, wiccans included) and have received very little courtesy in return.

Respects and regards

Just because someone is qualified to declare the way to God does not mean that they are therefore also the only way.

Many others have spoken of this across the ages. Many have believed differently. Are they all wrong then? Or is there perhaps more than one way to God?

Respectfully, no. I don't agree. The term "verbal camouflage" sounds like something a fundamentalist would say when something threatens his system of belief.

When people ask that question, I like to give them the benefit of the doubt: they are asking a legitimate question about the concept of the "universal Christ."

People who challenge Norsemen with, "How can you say Thor is the only way to Odin?" are good at verbal camouflage...what sounds like concern for tolerance is actually the belief that Thor is not qualified to declare the way to Odin! Don't you agree??
