I think that it is certainly a possibility, there is no doubt that Cliff Richard has impacted people's lives for God, through his openness about his Faith in Jesus! Part of that impacting (as I found out first hand when I wrote to him, many years ago, concerning one of my sons who I was worried about at the time) was that he had set up a network of people willing to 'be there' after his initial response to people's problems. He stayed where he believed God wanted him to be - in his original job - and has reached many, many people as a result! He has stayed true to His Belief in a setup in which most people would find it almost impossible to! He may be the butt of many jokes, but he gets on with what he believes God is asking him to do next!
Occasionally I have thought that he's 'lost the plot', as in a 'throwaway' comment about his 'Heathcliff' role - "I get to beat my wife every night and then go out for dinner with friends!" - during a television interview some years ago! Also his involvement and enthusiasm (shared by much of the established churches I have to say) for the Harry Potter books! This I find hard to comprehend when God Warns from Genesis, through to Revelation, against getting involved in the occult in any way, shape, or form!!! However, he is still probably the best witness in the world of showbusiness today! Whether people love him, or hate him, at least they know what he stands for!
I do agree with one of your answers, that you can't claim to be a Christian and carry on as before! This doesn't mean that we need to become 'saints' over night, simply to be open to the Guidance of The Holy Spirit, in the things that we need to let go of! At some point or other, we will all let Jesus down, because we are human! Slipping occasionally and seeking forgiveness immediately is one thing, intentionally carrying on as before and not caring is a different matter entirely!
People shouldn't become Christian because a popstar, filmstar, etc might! But if they do - and it is real - then the publicity will impact far more people than if you, or I did, because we are unknown! It is the way of the world!!!
When we become Christian, we are given a privileged position as a child in God's Family - and with that privilege comes responsibility to endeavour to live a life pleasing to Him! One that will bring His Love, Light, Beauty, Joy and Peace in some measure each day into a world that is filled with ugliness, hatred, darkness, violence, bigotry and greed!

It would be a sad commentary on our times if that happened. If someone is going to believe in God, it has to be because that person actually found Jesus and believes He is the Son of God. I sure as heck wouldn't base my life's most important decision on the opinion or judgment of a celebrity.
Although I must say, I do have great respect for people like Kirk Cameron who are willing to stand up for what they believe in, even when it goes against the popular Hollywood ideas.

I think most people believe that they only turn to God when times are tough, in fact that's a general assumption about Christians, that we are somehow 'weak' for leaning on God. I think there is some truth in that.....God can really reach people when He is all that they have. But generally, to answer your question, no I don't think they would.

You can't dress like Jezebel, act like Jezebel and ask for people to believe that you are Christian.
You can't star in movies that call God's name in vain and ask for people to believe that you are Christian.
It certainly would be nice to see decent movies again before "Gone With the Wind," where cursing and calling God's name in vain are not in them. However, we are on a path to get is vulgar and ugly as we can get. A young woman showing her bottom to the whole world is just about as ugly and vulgar as nudity can get.

Maybe, you never know. Although, if they're only doing it to emulate a celebrity they admire, how much would they really get out of it? Where would their support come from? I'm not convinced that it would be a genuine lifestyle choice if they're not even certain why they're turning to it...

i do no longer care what human beings call it Jewish regulation or Christian regulation, I basically understand I would desire to persist with God's regulation. in fact, the NT is a lot greater complicated to persist with as interior the OT, that's a watch for a watch & in case you kill somebody you have dedicated a sin yet interior the NT, you will desire to bless people who curse you and in case you lots as think of of killing somebody, you have already dedicated a sin. regrettably, as you pronounced it, human beings p.c.. and decide what applies to them & despite if that's basically too confusing for them to persist with a definite regulation, they'll take yet another excerpt from the Bible to grant themself an excuse why they have not persist with that regulation.

People will follow simply because they want to be famous, not to seek the truth for themselves

Yes I do. But I also believe it would only "stick" with people if those celebrities "stuck" with it themselves.
