And view the Body of Christ over this earth?
Because of all that has happened over the centuries, with all the division that has occured that had a way of dividing us and labelling us according to a certain dogma or practice how has this impacted on the way you discern,view, care for, cherish,defend and protect the Body of Christ.
When we see another christian in person do we ask them " which chruch do you go to" first? Or do we just love this person because the One that we love.. This Jesus Christ , is indwelling this one. That you both share the same Heavenly Father and are One through the same Holy SPirit. This is a very sobering matter that I want to put forward to all my dear brothers and sisters here. Please share from your heart on this matter.
Thank You so much for taking the time to open up in this way.
Your sister in Christ

The Church’s one foundation
Is Jesus Christ her Lord,
She is His new creation
By water and the Word.
From heaven He came and sought her
To be His holy bride;
With His own blood He bought her
And for her life He died.

She is from every nation,
Yet one o’er all the earth;
Her charter of salvation,
One Lord, one faith, one birth;
One holy Name she blesses,
Partakes one holy food,
And to one hope she presses,
With every grace endued.

The Church shall never perish!
Her dear Lord to defend,
To guide, sustain, and cherish,
Is with her to the end:
Though there be those who hate her,
And false sons in her pale,
Against both foe or traitor
She ever shall prevail.

Though with a scornful wonder
Men see her sore oppressed,
By schisms rent asunder,
By heresies distressed:
Yet saints their watch are keeping,
Their cry goes up, “How long?”
And soon the night of weeping
Shall be the morn of song!

’Mid toil and tribulation,
And tumult of her war,
She waits the consummation
Of peace forevermore;
Till, with the vision glorious,
Her longing eyes are blest,
And the great Church victorious
Shall be the Church at rest.

Yet she on earth hath union
With God the Three in One,
And mystic sweet communion
With those whose rest is won,
With all her sons and daughters
Who, by the Master’s hand
Led through the deathly waters,
Repose in Eden land.

O happy ones and holy!
Lord, give us grace that we
Like them, the meek and lowly,
On high may dwell with Thee:
There, past the border mountains,
Where in sweet vales the Bride
With Thee by living fountains
Forever shall abide!

This subject always upsets me a bit because I see far too much elbow rubbing going on with people who need to be saved. The apostles said if anyone comes to you bringing you another gospel, you shouldn't even greet them let alone call them brethren. There are some religions out there that are clearly not holding to the gospel of Jesus Christ while they claim to be Christians. I love all people but I don't accept all people as fellow Christians. If you do, and they need you to tell them the truth about Christ and the true gospel then you are doing them a disservice. Sometimes the correction comes off as non-acceptance and the non-acceptance as being unloving but that is our cross to bear, being misunderstood. I wish that everyone in the world would be saved but all I can do is try to lead people in my small corner to Him and His truth. God bless you, my Christian sister. (((hugs))))

There is slill only one body of Christ and that bosy is made of many members out of all churches. Should we unite? We are all united in Christ. There is a mouvment that wants us to unite while on this Earth but this, in mt humble opinion, is a wrong thing. We all think that we alone are right and in uniting we would accomplish nothing other than more people being disaponted in the church they are in ewventualy stip following Christ. We should live the gospel and thanks to God we can do that without all of us being in the same church.

Jesus said and I quote "By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if ye have love one to another". John 13:35

In another verse Jesus said and I quote "These things I command you, that ye love one another". John 15:17

Christ also said in his prayer for us "That they all may be one; as thou.....that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me". John 17:21.

I believe that as we share, reach out and pray for one another there is a spiritual bond that takes place that transcends our theological differences. People may not always agree with your point of faith but they will never forget how you treated them during their time of need.

The message of Christ is a message of Love. God did not call us to change the world but he called us to Love the world through the message of Christ. His grace is sufficient.

John 3:16

Thanks Sandy for this post. I appreciate your thoughful questions and responses. May you continue to grow in his grace daily.

My church doesn't ask what church they go to nor do they care. We love our fellow brothers/sisters even though some may disagree we all try to agree to disagree on certain issues. Our neighbor church down the street had a revival and we all went in place of our evening services. We have also had a BBQ with another motorcycle ministry in a different town and it was a blast. To us it doesn't matter what we disagree on we still agree that we all love God and that is all that truely matters. Best part is we have fun doing it.

I ask the same thing. All this became apparent to me when I was trying to find a suitable sponsor for my baby for her baptism. Pastor states that he/she must be of the same demoniation as us, among a long list of other qualities. That threw us for a loop. I would had liked for this to all be about simply serving the Lord, not minor differences in doctrine that divides us into categories.

I totally agree with you.
