In my experience it has been more the person than their religion. If a person is firm in their faith they can trust me and are willing to reveal their inmost thoughts and feelings about their religion, I find I am close to them all on a spiritual level. We can talk about many topics, issues, problem-solving, joy, sadness, etc.

If someone is not so firm, they fear me and my intentions as a Baha'i. Then, it's difficult to communicate about anything beyond mundane daily affairs if that. Vehement hostility towards me has come from some in this "feel-threatened" category,

I greatly enjoy exchanging thoughts and feelings with anyone of any faith or no faith if they are open, confident, curious, and respectful.

i'm an animist. i think of that Buddhism or Shinto could be the closest to what I perception, and the followers of those religions might in all probability settle for what i've got faith with the smallest volume of hostility. Christianity is the main vehement in hostility against me, in my journey. This has a tendency to be from the followers of the evangelical church homes, yet i'm noticing an increasing form of Church of england Christians transforming into to be opposed - particularly from the "happy, clappy" church homes.

I'm a Taoist. Chan (Zen) Buddhism seems pretty close to me.

As for "vehement in hostility" I'm not aware of any. Most people haven't heard much of Taoism. Or care.

But those with one 'creator' God - sometimes I find they really don't understand where I'm coming from. But that's OK. We're all different and should live in peace together. Oops!

As a Christian Judaism is nearest to what I believe. In fact I would say Christians are "Jews" in that we look to the Jewish Messiah as our savior and we have undergone a circumcision of our hearts. As far as those I would consider the most vehement; I would have to say atheist and other secular humanist. History has shown people who deny God are the most violent and oppressive (Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot......) and have little regard for life beyond a survival of the fittest mentality.

I'm a Christian and I believe the closest religion to my own is Hinduism. We have a Trinity and Communion of Saints instead of the Hindu pantheon, but there are many, many similarities (Krishna to Jesus, Vishnu & Indra to God, Shiva to the Holy Spirit, and so on). As with Christianity there are many perspectives within it, many levels of understanding - from God as magical wish-granter to the mystical Christians and Vedanta. Very similar.

There is a story that once a Hindu guru was invited to speak at a Christian monastery. The verse of the day was Jesus saying, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Light. No man coes to the Father but by me." The guru said, "Yes, Jesus is the Way isn't he? And this Way that Jesus is goes by many names."

I believe in the four Chinese Gods in a sort of my own way, I believe in reincarnation and they have helped me more times than "god" has, which "he" has done nothing.

I get along with any other religions really, except most bible believers since they are pretty much all the same and are the most violent of religions ever, (Yes, you are you bible believer, more so than Muslims or anyone of an Iraq/Iran religion)

I am a Jew. I see the most similarities in the LDS. Historically, the most hostility has come from Christians.

Jews are forbidden from ignoring the plight of others, including animals. Christians are commanded to love their neighbor, but why is it they stand by indifferently as their neighbor is tortured and killed?

I am Buddhist.

Muslims, Confuncianists, Hindus, Athaeists and Jews are the most easy and cosy to be around (in my experience).

The Christians... I try to avoid them the best I can. The Christians become frightening agressive sometimes and I don't find them nice company.

I am Christian and of course it is Judaism. Without the Jews, we would not have the Word of God and my Lord Jesus the Christ is a Jew. However, it is Jesus who tells me to love even my enemies that do and say horrible things against me.
It is Jesus who says, "love my neighbor as myself." It is Jesus who says "how can I say that I love Him who I haven't seen and hate my brother who I have seen." Jesus says this cannot happen. I am commanded to love you.
