To me, The Holy Spirit confirms the Holy Bible in my Spiritman, but denies the book of Mormon.

So? Are they the same Spirit?

What is the significance of the 10 commandments? why did God bother to create them if you can be exhonourated so easily? eg you commit murder admit it to a Catholic priest he tells you to say 10 hail mary's and you are clear of your sin, so why bother imposing the 10 com's whats the point?why would he do it when there is no obvious reason.

As I had two answers that indicated this in a previous question. With verses that say to not consider what to say, but the Holy Spirit will talk for you, or give you what to say.

I believe blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is calling the Spirit/Power of God demonic or of devils.

Witnesses told of a fiery ball falling from the sky and smashing into the desolate Andean plain near the Bolivian border at the weekend. Officials have said it was a meteorite. so far 200 people have suffered headaches, nausea and respiratory problems caused by "toxic" fumes from the resulting crater, which is about 66 feet
The spaceweather.com site is now reporting that it may not have been a meteorite afterall.

Wormwood

'And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.'

What do you think hit Peru?

This may be a dumb question, but I was thinking about it this morning. To many countries it is the year 2007 A.D., after Christ. The B.C. years count down and eventually start counting up once they become A.D.

My question is, is it possible, in a country that does not follow Jesus Christ, that there is no B.C. or A.D., where the years kept going up since recorded history, implying that it is not 2007 to them, but rather the year 8057 or something (I just made that number up)?

So? Why do people accuse Christians of persecuting others, when Christians don't? Calling some act a sin isn't persecuting anyone.

If so, why? Do you even respect the rights of people who want theists to stay out of their lives?

Why, if it wasn't necessary during the early years of this country, do you feel compelled only NOW to turn it into a theocracy?

Can someone please inform me if the original word used was 'ABIDE in me', and why is 'REMAIN in me' used in the NIV? Also, and this is really important, HOW does a Christian abide in Jesus?

Last week while on holiday (up a mountain in Andorra) my husband and I met up with a Christian family and Pedro made me stop and really think when he talked about the importance of our relationship with Christ. I don't think it was coincidence that we met - there's something here I really need to understand.

Christians: I do not believe in the Christian God. I do not believe in hell or heaven. Why is it then, that if I had an opportunity to cheat on my wife with an attractive woman, I would not do it? It’s not illegal, so I wouldn’t go to jail if I did. In fact, I probably wouldn’t even get caught. Why do you think many non-believers are able to have committed marriages? If man’s only reason for being moral is God, what keeps some of us non-believers from falling to temptation and cheating on our spouses? I think it is empathy that keeps me from doing bad things. I think of how it would make my wife feel if she knew and that is enough to keep me from doing it. Empathy and consciousness are what drive all moral behavior. We do not need anything supernatural. All cultures (including non-Christian ones) have had a moral code. That moral code could not have come from the Christian God since some cultures do/did not believe in the Christian God. It came from empathy and consciousness. Your thoughts?

Just as an experiment, try denying that computers exist. Try denying that electricity powers homes all across America. Try believing that your car has tiny horses in it that need to be fed hay every couple hours in order for it to run.

You can't do it, can you? Your mind knows that these things are not true, so no matter how much you try to convince yourself, you know you're just playing make-believe. So what do you say to your friend that actually believes those things are true, and keeps trying to convince you of the same?

Well, same thing goes for most atheists and religion. After considering it, and doing the necessary research, many of us can't believe in gods any more than you can believe there's a boogey man living under your bed that eats your belly lint while you're sleeping and will kill you if you wake up and see him.

Now, can you honestly say that we all choose not to believe, or can you understand that for some of us, it just isn't possible?

Why does Pat Robertsons college have a Law School? Why does Liberty University have a diverse curriculum other than just religous studies? Why do so many Christians get college degrees?

(I recognize this is antagonistic, I just want you to realize what you're actually saying if you spout that cliché)

that is used only to label the fact that you want to remove Christianity into our lifes..it is a word that is used to label anyone that disagrees with the fact that we are accountable to God and to religion, how do you become athesists? I don't understand..but this word is just fear mongering so as an excuse to remove God and Jesus in our daily life
Well if you must be so shallow why don't you just listen to what has to be said by Jesus he only teaches what we need in life.

Hi YA.

I was raised a good Christian, but since I've went to University I've been exposed to many sinful and dangerous things. I recently became involved with some guys who seemed alright at first. We got on pretty well, but then they broached the subject of homosexuality. Turns out they're all gay!. Needless to say I was pretty shocked by this turn of events. They tried to lure me into their disgusting web of sin, but I refused and went to leave. Then they threatened me with black magic if I didn't meet their demands. Of course I refused, and that night I prayed extra hard.

Next morning I woke up and my door was all covered in blood, so I immediately went to the local church where I am now. What should I do? If I don't give in, then they'll continue to use their satanic power against me, if I do I'll be damning myself to Hell!

I wish God would give me some answers.

For the last year, I prayed and prayed that my friend, who was sick with brain cancer, would recover. We lost touch for a little less than a year, and I was afraid the worst had happened. I prayed every single day that he would not only call me again (we lived far apart), but that he would be healed.

Yesterday, I got an e-mail from him. He is doing spectacular (the doctors are shocked he is doing this good considering the sickness) and he called me. He sounded wonderful.

God answered all of my prayers yesterday. I never lost my faith, but started to doubt. I now realize that God is with me no matter what happens, and in the end, I might still be surprised (or shocked for that matter).

*Big smiles*

This is a serious question of just wanting to know what you personally think about ”Hell”.

Is it a physical place, a state of being, or just the knowledge of what you could have had?
Does it even exist?

But most importantly, why do you believe this? Because your preacher, parents, or other told you so? Or is your own personal logic?

There are no right or wrong answers, I just want to know what you believe in.
