For the last year, I prayed and prayed that my friend, who was sick with brain cancer, would recover. We lost touch for a little less than a year, and I was afraid the worst had happened. I prayed every single day that he would not only call me again (we lived far apart), but that he would be healed.

Yesterday, I got an e-mail from him. He is doing spectacular (the doctors are shocked he is doing this good considering the sickness) and he called me. He sounded wonderful.

God answered all of my prayers yesterday. I never lost my faith, but started to doubt. I now realize that God is with me no matter what happens, and in the end, I might still be surprised (or shocked for that matter).

*Big smiles*

Sorry... the question should be...

HAS IT EVER BEEN PROVEN TO YOU?

And no, if he had died, I already came to terms that it would have been for the best, and God would have ended his suffering for a reason.

Praise God! Isn't it wonderful when you are able to witness the effects of miracles?

God is proven to me in HIs word and by His Spirit. yes yes yes. And yes, miracles still come. I have seen so many. Confirmed?? YES. The hard part is soemtimes God will say NO to our prayer, and the person still dies and we dont understand, and some even lose their faith> But GOd never says NO unless He has His reasons. I lost my oldest son to cancer when he was ten in 76, yet I knew there must be a reason. I still had prayers answered during his illness of no pain, after the docs predicted much pain. Yet, he died. SO years down the road, God began to reveal things to me and I saw why He took HIm early. Things happened in our family that were horrible , that that little boy could never understand or deal with. God took him early to spare him pain of later on stuff in life, and kept him free of pain as he died. Two brain surguries and not even a headache folks.
Yes I do know of miraclse. There are just as many miracles now as used to be, even more. The spirit of God is moving all around us as this world gets darker from sin, just like God told us would happen. God is pouring out more holy spirit power and light that will bless and take us right where we are supposed to be as we go thru some of this , before the rapture. Jesus is coming soon. God hears and answers every prayer of HIS BELIEVERS. He says so, but sometimes we are told NO, or that we have to wait. We must accept that and remember He knows way more than we do and love and serve Him anyhow, and continue to obey all HE commands us to obey. KNow this world is so temporary and soon Jesus is coming to take us home, where we have no need of miracles, healing/ deliverance, as its already been done amen
God is with us always. IF we dont feel His presence, think on this, He never moves, it is WE that move. Just run back to HIm if you ever feel like that. He is there waiting for you everytime with open arms. What a loving , forgiving God we serve. But we know we must turn from sin before we die or Jesus comes. In 1 John 3:9 God says that those born of God cant sin.
HEllo folks. grace dosent cover continue, willful, deliberate sin. Get this message out.....

I'm glad your friend is doing well. That's fantastic!

The thing is that this isn't proof at all. It's not proof that God answers prayer, it's not proof of miracles and it's not proof that there is a god.

A certain percentage of people who have cancer will have a remarkable turn-around. While this doesn't diminish the incredible feelings you have in this situation, it doesn't permit the rules of logic to allow you to immediately assume that because something you prayed for happened proves the existence of God, especially when the thing prayed for has a realistic chance of happening anyway.

Proof, to me, would involve a turn-around when there is NO chance of it happening. For example: I have a young friend who was in an automobile accident and is quadriplegic. If someone were to pray for her (which they have), and she were to be healed and walk again, I would consider that miraculous and at least indicative that there were someone or something listening. If an amputee were to regrow a limb after prayer, that would be evidence.

The point is that you can't use something that happens from time to time, to Christian, Atheist and Pagan with equal frequency as proof of God.

What wonderful news!! Prayer does work wonders.

God has answered my prayers more times than I can count.

Keep your faith!!

PS I hope you know that all of your prayers will not be answered the way you might wish, people will get sick and die. I am only adding this because many believe in God until something tragic happens and then they stop believing.

That's awesome! I am so happy for you. Some people doubt that God is there because they are going through a tough time and want answers when they want it. I got divorced 3 years ago and things were horrible. My credit was ruined, my job didn't make me enough money to pay for everything. So I continued to work 60+ hours a week and try to pay what I could. Now 3 years later, I have a new job that pays well, that I love, a new man this is crazy about me, and I have everything I have ever asked God to give me. I waited a long time, but now I understand why it happened and I appreciate it so much more after I had to struggle. *High five!*

I think it is awesome that your friend has recovered , and I DO believe in God

but seriously how is this proof of anything
you say your prayers were heard and that is why he is well , but if he died it would have been Gods will ?
that is a win win situation

but I repeat , I am very happy for you both

I am very glad your friend is doing great.

I believe in God and I have a lot of faith in him too.
I would suggest though, that you don't only pray to him when in need. But remember that you should pray and go to church every Sunday. He is our Father, therefore we should always, pray and thank him for all the beautiful things in life, especially for everyday He gives us in this world.

Our faith is tested in bad times. It might sometimes be hard because we don't see it right away, but you should always remember.....
***God does not grant it at once, but delays it, first, so that He may better prove our confidence.
***God wills is not to give quickly, so that you may learn to have great desire for great things; things long desired are pleasanter to obtain, but things "Soon given are cheapened." [Serm. 61, E.B.]

Always keep your faith and don't pay no mind to all the ignorance of all these atheists !!

I am so glad that you realize God does answer your prayers. I am also glad that your friend is doing well. YES!!!! God has answered prayers for me (and my family).
My 24 year old neice is a brittle diabetic. She was in a coma and on life support for 3 weeks. The doctors had called in the family to say that there was nothing left they could do. We prayed and prayed. Our churches' prayer teams prayed. One day while her father and I were visiting her in ICU, a male nurse from one of the other floors came in to her room. He ask us if we would like to lay hands on her and pray. We gladly agreed to. We prayed for her health to be restored. We prayed for her husband to have strength. We prayed for her 4 year old son and her 1 year old son. It was so hard for us to sit by her side and know that only the grace of God could help her. We were only allowed to visit her for 5 minutes at a time. That afternoon, her father and I went in to visit her. The doctors said that she had begun to have kidney failure and also test results showed she had pnemonia. Each time earlier when we had gone into her ICU room we mostly stayed quiet (Doctor's orders). But this time her father and I decided we must talk to her because we thought it might be our last chance. We prayed for her and told her that we loved her and that God loves her. I then told her "Please just wake up!" Her father broke down in tears. He gained his composure and told her "In the name of God, WAKE UP! I promise that within seconds, she woke up and tried to take the breathing tube out of her throat!!! She remained in the hospital for several more weeks and had to have physical therapy to help her walk and gain full use of her left arm again.
As I write this I am at her house one year later visiting her, her husband and her two wonderful children.
God does answer our prayers. For once He answered ours the way we wanted.
I do know that sometimes the way He answers doesn't make sense to me.
God is good ALL the time. I also am thankful that she had already accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior.
THE POWER OF PRAYER DOES WORK!!!

Wow, that's fantastic. I prayed on my little neice and her life too as when my sister was in the hospital and she'd just given birth the doctors said that she wouldn't make it, would never be able to eat on her own or breathe on her own.

She's 11 years old, eats, breathes and she is a down syndrome child, however not a bad thing ... the childs heart is clearly shown everyday and if God looks at the heart of a person....(and he does) well she's outranked a whole bunch of us with hers!

I am very happy for you, but I wonder how would you react if the opposite happened. Just because you believe doesn't mean it will happen the way you want. I have lost my faith a lot, but then I recover from it because ultimately God is with us, not to serve us. He does what he does for us, to us, and with us what he chooses. Having faith is believing in something impossible, but remember like those three Hebrews said before they went to the furnace, "If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up." Daniel 3:17-18. In spite of all that we go through and experience, we must trust in God through it all. Just my opinion for the moment.
