True story : I saved a young boy from drowning once. He was probably 4 or 5 years old. I was 18 or 19. I performed the Heimlich on him, until I knew he could breathe again. He spit up a moderate amount of water, but was OK.
I took his hand, and began combing the area, looking for his parents (don't know why they weren't around in the first place). When his mother found us, she grabbed him from my hand, and ran with him as fast as she could in the opposite direction without a word. No "thank you", no "let go of my son"...nothing. I didn't want a reward or even a "thank you", but that action REALLY pissed me off.
It also goes a long way in saying how untrusting we are (and to a great extent, rightly so) in society. For all she knew, I was a kidnapper.

this is a good lesson about heroes - right after hurricane Katrina, I left Central Texas with a trailer full of ice, water, food, clothes. This dangerous ordeal was full of adventure, after dropping off supplies in Covington Peace House, I took a young man to bus station, and a mother and son to Houston where they had a job and new home waiting. It could have been disastrous, and upon my return I found the evacuees all around my neighborhood, already present both non victims and regular homeless. In the end I decided I could be a hero at any day, and it was as close as my neighbor. Down in LA, there were neighbors there who ignored then and now the homeless and in need.
I became enlightened that while I thought to be a hero, I came back feeling quite foolish. There is a saying, those who can help, do. Those who can't, teach
Oh well
that's my story

I have a few stories, that may be described as heroic, Most recently (7 years ago) I drove my dad to county hospital to go into de-tox & rehab. He was an alcoholic since he was 12 years old. I was the first person in his life to take action to really help him. ( and I was in my late 20's) He sucessfully completed the program, and has been sober ever since. He was in danger of losing his job, his marriage, and his only son. My grandmother & uncle's have all called me a hero in that capacity. I think even my dad called me his hero once too.
When I was very young, I was told that I was not allowed to cuddle up with my baby brother (he is one year younger than me) in his bed untill he fell asleep anymore. This broke my heart. So I crawled through the heating vent from my room to his to sneak in a good night cuddle. Well that night I discovered that my brother was having some type of episode or seizure, he had turned purple & wasn't breathing. I alerted my parents right away, my mom is a nurse & was able to revive him, but if I had obeyed them, my brother would be dead. I really felt like a hero back then...

Of course. I'm a Mommy. I always know how to make it better, and if I don't, I'll at least rock and hum until it seems better, even if I'm dry heaving myself.
I've also nursed a couple of people through severe depressions, and came up with money from somewhere so my Mom could divorce her second husband and, some years later, buy her own house so she didn't have to live with my psychotic sister.
I've also given diapers to strangers who were out, prevented a parking-lot accident, and am currently feeding a stray cat who was skeletal and probably about to starve to death in my backyard.
Guess I'm pretty mundane as far as heros go... oh well, I just do what I can.

I jumped off the top of the lighthouse when I was 10 years old when no other kid in the neighborhood would (this is on an island in Greece) and I was everybodys hero for about a month. This was pretty hard, for I was the only girl among about twenty boys. LOL.

I hate bragging and stuff, but...
Last year, I witnessed a guy go off the freeway and hit a tree - his car exploding into flames. I jammed the brakes and jumped out and ran to his aide, punching out his window and pulling him out by his legs (he had been trying to kick out the glass, hence his feet were near me - the crash had bent his vehicle enough to cause the doors to not be able to be opened...) as flames engulfed his vehicle... His face had some cuts and he hugged me and got his blood all over my off white jacket - which I ended up wearing into work along with mud covered shoes... He, the police and everyone I work with called me a hero - but I dont consider myself one.
I like to think that I did what anyone would do when faced with seeing a fellow human in dire need of assistance. Give them assistance!!
I also once was the first person on the scene to a motorcycle accident where a guy hit a tree head on. I administered first aid as we waited for the ambulance, giving CPR, however, unfortunately, the man was dead when I arrived and I wasnt able to revive him...and neither were the paramedics. That one was tough on me... A lot of blood and grey brain matter coming out of his ears as I blew into his mouth... And then having to ask his wife (who was nearby) if her dead husband had any blood borne diseases that I should be aware of, as I was covered in it, all over my face and mouth.

i witnessed Link and Ganondorf's swordfight in the game the Twilight Princess. They both fought heroically for me. Link was the ultimate victor, and he brought peace throughout Hyrule.
I am the Triforce.
I'm nobody's hero. the only thing I do really is inspire my nephew to play random world instruments like the ocarina, pan flute and other stuff.

I don't think I've ever done anything to warrant the title.
An old military friend of mine got his leg run over grabbing a runaway kid in a parking lot though. He was that family's hero that day.

Um I can't remember but my 4 yr old cousin gave this other kid who was bigger and a few years older the finger and the evil eye , which scared him off and stopped him from harrassing the other kids and her by splashing them over and over at the pools.

Well, one time at work (McDonald's) some lady got into a fight with one of my co-workers and the lady's toddler followed her into the kitchen area. I escorted the kid out so she wouldn't get hurt. (Or have to see her mother make an *** of herself.)
And one time my husband almost ran out into a busy street because he was spooked by a wasp. I pulled him back in time. (Don't you think being hit by a car would hurt more than being stung?)
Well, that's about it!
