Human Beings aren't inherently bloodthirsty. There were studies conducted in World War II on how many soldiers actually fired their weapons at the enemy. Close to 90% didn't "try" to kill anybody. This widely established fact in the social sciences.
Authorities freaked out when they realized how many people couldn't bring themselves to actually kill another human being so they started giving soldiers specialized training to overcome this basic human aversion to killing. This caused the percentage to go up to say 80-90% of soldiers actively trying to kill people in the Vietnam War and beyond. (By the way, sociologists estimate that 2% of the population have no aversions to killing another). Look at how many veterans (fighting on the frontlines) from Vietnam, Gulf War, and Gulf War 2 are coming back with serious psychological trauma. The incidence of PTSD has increased as the result of training people to go against their human nature.
It is bloodthirsty leaders sitting in their cozy office chairs that cause wars.
Further, there is a vast discrepency between what people "think" war is like and what is in reality. War in reality is horrible. 90% of all casualties in wars worldwide are civilian casualties. That probably isn't what the typical neocon imagines when they think of war.
War is mythologized. It is never a fight of "good vs. evil". There are no heroes in war. Wars don't settle arguments or spread ideas. Too many people have these "fairy-tale" conceptions of war. Too often war does not recieve the respect it deserves.
Peace is attainable when we recognize that people aren't inherently bloodthirsty and that group dynamics, such as the media, are responsible for war. When people see war for what it is and mourn the dead after victory instead of celebrating "heroes", peace is possible. When the decision for war is made in a very cold and calculated way, without any silly romantic ideas such as bravery, heroism, or "spreading freedom", peace is possible. People must acknowledge that a war means that thousands of innocents will die. That must figure into the equation of whether or not to start a war.
The public should be informed at all times about the costs of war so that they can better ascertain if the goals of war are worth the expense, in human and monetary terms. The media should broadcast gory scenes from the frontlines daily so that no one ever forgets the cost.

Peace is personal
One meets a world that only proves truth of what is in one's mind
Death is only when the grim Reaper takes most of you away when he removes the Grim such that nothing remains to be living
Peace - or "Harmlessness" is the master ticket pass that allows the body to transmute into something that is able to continue onwards into the rest of the cosmos that also exists as a reality in the spectrum that the human five senses are able to function in
Man has always only encountered that part of the Father/Mother's Kingdom that he is able to interpret with the brain that that particular life has programmed to percieve

Peace is where our future should take us. I like to look around and see the world at peace. It can be found in our entire environment, both mentally and physically. Peace rewards us with a sense of pride and justice. So, I believe in Peace for everythingl that exists.

it sort of feels to me that the God a man or woman believes in says so lots greater with regard to the guy than it does approximately God. some human beings seem to have self belief in a cranky, vengeful, petulant God. Others have self belief in a huge parent interior the Sky God. some deny that there is any God in any respect. some say God is Love. No, i do no longer think of believing in a God demands that this is a fabulous God, even with the undeniable fact that a lot of human beings insist that one and all which is sweet is God, and that one and all which is evil is a devil or a devil. i think of if one specifies that the God is a writer, then definite, it follows that each and every thing may be the introduction of the writer. i admire dreaming's answer. i think of of "God" as "That that's." i'm in basic terms a tiny drop interior the enormous Ocean. i do no longer declare to appreciate the form of the coastline :-))

How can anyone "believe" in peace. It's a noun. It's the state of affairs where there is no violence. There's no debate over whether the word exists.

peace -- personal peace of mind, i have this every day.
Peace, as in harmony between individuals and in groups of people, yes i believe in it and strive for it and usually fall short of the goal, but i keep trying.
PEACE, as in Peace on Earth, i believe it will happen, but not by the efforts of man.

I have the peace that comes from the Lord. But while this earth remains there will be no peace. It will be promised, but it will be broken.

Do I want people to live in harmony and understanding with each other... of course.
do I think that it is the nature of humanity to be at war... apparently so.
