When you ask many Christians about the laws in the New Testament against Divorce then they say they dont have to follow ANY laws since they have grace.

When you ask them about homosexuality they quote the Old Testament.

When you ask them about any law they dont like from the OT they say they are not bound by the laws of the Old Covenant.

Some say you have to follow the 10 commandments and others say they only have to follow secular laws and not a single divine law.....

Whats up with this religion ?

I have never once in my life thought that i would not go to heaven. But i switced to a privite high school my freshman year (i was religious before this) and the religion teachers have said stuff that makes me question if i will go or not. Im a good person dont get me wrong but they are saying that drinking/sex/sexual activity is wrong and we will go to hell. Even if i had made some done some of that but i still have faith will i still go to heaven?

how should I differentiate among the various religious claims?

I have heard that many can feel the presence of God, but I haven't. I prayed about it, still nothing.

I have heard many have memories from past lives, but I don't. I meditated, nothing.

I have heard stories of angels, aliens, psychics, demons, etc, but without experiencing them, how can I tell who is believable?

If satan repented, would God allow him back into heaven? Would that mean an end to evil or would some other demon take over hell?

My mom passed away in February from a a rare disease. I know she loved me very much. We were close all of her life. My family and I moved in with my parents to take care of her before her death. We had many talks about the church. My husband and I , along with our children went to the temple for the first time the day she died. this was a very special day for all of our family. My question is, why has my mother not visited me in my dreams. Just to let me know she is ok.?

OK, you guys say that the practice of infant male circumcision should be legal to please the invisable man in the sky. Why this choice shouldn't be given to the boy is beoynd me.

And, people from East Africa who pray to a different invisable man have a practice of doing the same thing to girls. Their prepuce being the hood. Americans are strongly againsed that. Why should what you want to do be legal but what they want to do be illegal?

My possition is that everyone should be able to have a circumcision if they want one when they are of legal age and deciding for themself.

I've heard some Christians say that if there were no promise of eternal life in Heaven, then they would have no reason to be moral! In their minds, with no promise of Heaven or threat of Hell, everything would be allowed... Contrast that with the attitude of most Atheists, who believe in doing good for its OWN sake? Don't you think that makes them more truely moral?

I go to a big campus and I'm Buddhist. When I say so, 9 times out of 10, someone will try to convert me to Christianity. I admit, there are a few cool people who don't try to convert me, but my friends that are Buddhists also get the same thing. One of mine even says someone used to say that she's going to hell, which she responds with something from our sect of Buddhism. Could someone shed some light on that?

It isn't a problem to have a question, but I can see that not all people use this place honestly; many, possibly most among all the people here polute this space -- which could actually be very useful -- with questions that come out of unthought or even bad objectives. So, if you are a person who asks the most various questions, ask yourself if you are being honest, either when you answer this question, if you intend to, as well as when you decide to ask another question, having in mind that many questions people ask in here may be answered by themselves, if they give a thought about it. And this place be left for people who really need someone else to help them solve their question. / Thanks if you respect the terms of this question. / G., Rio de Janeiro (ferreiro_romano@yahoo.com.br)

No, I don't mean can "you," like, people, in general.

I mean, you, specifically.

Have YOU ever managed to both LOVE and HATE someone?

[[No, I haven't decided how to fit this into religion and spirituality yet, but I'll figure it out, eventually...]]
