Like members of many religious faiths, Latter-day Saints wear religious clothing. But members of other faiths — typically those involved in permanent pastoral ministries or religious services — usually wear religious garments as outer ceremonial vestments or symbols of recognition. In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, garments are worn beneath street clothing as a personal and private reminder of commitments to God.

Garments are considered sacred by Church members and are not regarded as a topic for casual conversation.

Adult Mormons who have gone through the Temple, make promises to God. They wear "garments" that have a few simple marks. The garments help maintain modesty and act as a reminder of those promises.

They make no claim that they are magic. People who don't like Mormons use this to slander Mormons.

Appearently mine isn't magical, because the annoying people in my life haven't disappeared yet.

After going through the temple, LDS wear certain under garments as a reminder of their covenents and devotion to God. Same reason nuns or pastors wear specific clothing. Yet since it's worn under the clothing rather than outside, some people feel it's funny to make fun of it. Though those same people would be upset if anyone else made fun of a Cardinal's cap, or a Muslim woman's hijab. But since they don't understand, "Christians" feel they have right to mock it. Calling it "magical."

Just like all other mormon "myths"...they aren't magic.
LDS members who have received their endowment in the temple wear what we call "garments", they are our underwear. They are an outward symbol of the covenants we make to our Heavenly Father in the temple - to be chaste, obey the commandments, follow the gospel...they are sacred to us but so many people think they are weird.
But, oh well.

I'll go along with Ammon on this. But one there is one thing i would like to know. Why are you, and everyone else, so interested in a person's underwear? That's just plain weird. I'm not interested in your underwear.

What is the fascination with Mormon undergarments? Are you people perverts?
In the Temples, ceremonies are performed! SACRED ceremonies! covenants are made between members, and God! What is said. and done in those ceremonies are not for discussion, or is the business of non-members!

it is not magic underwear and it is kind of disrespectful to call it " magic underwear" they are holy garments that we recieve after we become worthy to enter the house of the Lord( the temple) and that is all you really need to know about it.

The Mormons wear special undergarments to help them remember promises they made at the temple:

People tell some amazing stories about the "protective" properties of our temple garments, but I think it's all urban legend stuff.

They remind us of our covenants we make in the temple.
