No, I don't mean can "you," like, people, in general.

I mean, you, specifically.

Have YOU ever managed to both LOVE and HATE someone?

[[No, I haven't decided how to fit this into religion and spirituality yet, but I'll figure it out, eventually...]]

Yep, Zalem.
It's you.
Sorry, that you had to find out this way.
Tehe.
Don't worry, I don't hate you...
...yet.

Seriously!
Hatred!
Come on, I'm seriously not kidding!
Wtf!? Why the hell are you laughing at me!
THIS IS NOT FUNNY!
I seriously hate you now!
*sigh....*

Oh, didn't you hear?
My church taught me that I can't forgive.
And no, I'm not kidding.
I was seriously don't that I cannot forgive people, by a previous interim pastor.
I never liked him....
But still,
According to everyone that, I'm incapable of forgiveness.
They were kind blunt about it, too....
Meanieheads...

Sorry if I was unclear--I was kidding about hating Zalem; I could never hate Zalem =)

When I said "no, I'm not kidding," I was referring to being told by my church that I am incapable for forgiveness--most people do not believe that, so I said I wasn't kidding.

Sorry, all, for the conclusion.

Well, I can't remember anyone that I've ever actually 'hated.' Not liked very much, perhaps, but not hated by the standard definition of the word.

But I have loved more than one person who's actions I did not approve of or like. In other words, I have loved someone that I ended up not liking very much. Perhaps I became dismayed, disappointed or disillusioned with them. But if I could love someone I couldn't imagine ever hating them afterwards.

Sure. Although I don't like to admit it. My mother is a good example. I loved her because she was my mother and loved me the best she could, but I hated her because she caused a lot of problems in my life, was always fearful and angry, distrustful of people, hurtful, and so on. She didn't know how to love. Of course, when I came to Christ I no longer hated her, just hated her actions and bad behavior and mostly felt very sorry for her.

Yes. Hate is the highest form of passion. You can't truly hate someone unless you have some kind of emotional bond with them.

Yes, but when I have to do it at the same time, the inner conflict it creates hurts a lot. I try to avoid it.

Yes, my ex-wife, because we are inseparable and separated at the same time. We are raising our son, so always talk to have a unified approach to problems, and rewards.

The opposite of love is apathy.
