I have never once in my life thought that i would not go to heaven. But i switced to a privite high school my freshman year (i was religious before this) and the religion teachers have said stuff that makes me question if i will go or not. Im a good person dont get me wrong but they are saying that drinking/sex/sexual activity is wrong and we will go to hell. Even if i had made some done some of that but i still have faith will i still go to heaven?

You will go to heaven as long as you repent of your sins and put your faith in Jesus.

I still believe that life on earth is transitory and there is a better destination waiting for us in the hereafter. Otherwise, our present mortal existence would be meaningless if the good that we do and the sins that we make have no bearing on where we are going from here.

I will not believe that sex per se is wrong and that if we have sex, it will automatically condemn our souls to hell. Your teachers are making the connection between hell and promiscuous activities because it makes them really desperate dealing with your raging hormones, and they have no better or more original idea to scare you away from sex. If only for the good intention that they have, I can understand them. But I think the totallity of the person is the ultimate basis of what his destiny is going to be instead of the indiscretions he committed in his life time.

If after all that is said and done, you can honestly say that you have managed to live a good life, and at least tried to make up for the sins that you have, then i guess you deserve to be forgiven by a good, understanding and compassionate God. I hate to be preachy because it's out of character but I am just being honest about how i feel about your problem. How I wish I was able to help you.

Belle,
Please remember that Paul wrote in the Letter to the Roman Churches "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD". If you are a Christian then you have an opportunity to be forgiven of the sins that you have unintentionally committed by praying to the FATHER through HIS SON. If the sin is a public sin then you should ask for the prayers of your church members. This is all found in the scriptures. I would be glad to answer any and every Religious question that you may have just drop a note and I will respond. Have a wonderful evening and a glorious week.
Thanks,
Eds

Michael is right, if you are NOT a Christian then Acts 2:38 says that you are to believe and be baptized. For some reason, a number of people ignore the fact that baptism is mentioned here. There are a number of scriptures that tell us the first century Churches Baptized men and women for the forgiveness of sins.

Well, ask yourself my friend, have you accept Jesus to your life? Have you made him the leader of your life? If yes, then you will surely go to heaven. There's a verse in the Bible that says,"God will never abandon his children." This means that if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal savior and master you will surely go to heaven even if you made a sin. And do not worry about all your sins because that is the reason why Jesus resurrected. And if you do a sin, call upon God and ask him for forgiveness. And make sure you will never do the sin again. May your life be filled with joy and may God bless you!!!!

Hello, again. Well two difficult questions from you.
Ok, well you will be told following the rules and avoiding hurting others, you will go to heaven. And this could be true, probably is because your following the morals of your family and community.
As an old Catholic, I find that only GOD will decide who is rewarded heaven. Good or evil actions taken by you give humans a sign like a tennis score of a persons reward. Except no one knows GOD. Atheists are in heaven as well as many other faiths, because GOD rewarded them. Roman Catholics are not in heaven because GOD saw something flawed and wrong in their resolve and faith. Their lack of honesty and faith in themselves and others ruined their reward.
Your teachers are using immoral actions as a score sheet for gaining or losing your heavenly reward. Possibly just to stop teen drunkenness and teen pregnancies. Teens in full passion will not think about their actions and get pregnant or diseases (AIDS, herpes, gonorrhea). Getting drunk and driving KILLS. Also adults want teens to live, and go to university, and be a helping part of the community.
What can adults say to teens - to give teens a few seconds pause before drunk driving or sex - loss of heaven. (Which could be true, as GOD would so sad - you don't think higher of yourself than this?) Always remember how special you are - and don't be forced or pressured into actions you are not comfortable with.
GOD is all forgiving, but so are parents, and you know parents never stop loving you, but the treats and presents stop until you can prove you think more of yourself than your actions show. Being an adult means backing talk with action. Never blaming others for your actions, but being honest with yourself and GOD, (and your parents). Being responsible.
You will go to heaven - if you act as you know you should - and if GOD sees your honesty and reverence to life.

Well, you have a choice of answers. The first has no Biblical backing, just a nice, feel good doctrine based on man's opinion and Peter Pan advice. I do not think that is what you are looking for. What you need is the truth, and many times the truth hurts.
For salvation, what you need is a spiritual bone marrow transplant.Your spirit is sick and dying. You can do good works, and that is great, but that does not heal you of the disease. What you need is a transplant from the One who gave His marrow for you so that you can have brand new blood.
In the book of Numbers the people were being bitten by vipers. Everyone was bitten and had the venom in their veins, it was just a matter of time until they died. They repented and asked God to take away the serpents. God did not do that because it would not keep them from dying. Instead, He commanded a brass serpent be mounted on a standard. Anyone who looks upon this object would not die from the venom.
Jesus said that "You must be born again" and then added, "as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up."
Your answer lies in looking to Jesus as your Lord and Savior. As much as you do not want to hear this--it is your answer. You can't be saved by good works.

Titus 3:5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us.

2 Timothy 1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began

Remember, if we are saved by works, who gets the glory, God? Or you for being such a great person?

Ephesians 2
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

If these people are telling you that drinking and sexual activity send you to hell, they are dead wrong. These are merely symptoms of the disease. Stopping the symptoms does not cure the disease. Jesus is the cure. Take the cure into your being as Lord and Savior, and the symptoms will go away. You will then have life eternal with 100% assurance.

What is your faith based in? What do you know or understand about salvation, and how it is achieved?

Do you know and understand the gospel? If you did, God gives those who do His Spirit, and you would then begin to understand that things like sex were designed by God to be shared by a committed couple; that sex outside such a relationship is a perversion of what He ordained. You would not want to do anything that had the potential of harming another, spiritually, physically, emotionally, psychologically.

When one has the Spirit of God leading their life, the focus changes and you don't worry about what your old person did, for that person "dies" and is no more.

God performs what He wants in the true believer; you live for Him, and you quit living for yourself and your selfish desires.

Read St. John 3:5, Jesus tells what we must do to enter into His Kingdom. St. Peter preached it on the Day of Pentecost, Acts 2:38. This is how we are born again into His Kingdom.

Depends on who you ask....you will get tons of answers that will slam you and say you're going to hell and some will say you still have a chance...I personally think everyone is entitled to a "heaven" so who knows. Good luck!

Everyone sins. Does that mean everyone will go to hell? Not according to Romans 10:9

that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Your salvation isn't based on anything that *you* do (other than accepting Jesus), it's solely based on God's grace and mercy.

Please read the book of Romans. Romans is the roadmap to salvation.

In Christ,

Dennis
