My mom passed away in February from a a rare disease. I know she loved me very much. We were close all of her life. My family and I moved in with my parents to take care of her before her death. We had many talks about the church. My husband and I , along with our children went to the temple for the first time the day she died. this was a very special day for all of our family. My question is, why has my mother not visited me in my dreams. Just to let me know she is ok.?

I need to ask you a few questions and the answer you are looking for you might find within those questions. I do not intend to come off as insensitive. If it sounds that way just know that it is not meant that way. Okay?

I am keeping in mind that you are a Temple Endowed Saint.

Was your mother a Temple Saint as well? If not, do you know what to do next? "Do her work"

Our Kindred Dead do communicate to us from time to time but not in the way we "WANT" them too. Whenever they do there has to be a good just reason for it.

For example, My mothers departed family has communicated to me but not her and I don't know why. They just have and do.

Has she communicated with anyone else? Children, Grandchildren etc... If so maybe they have not told you.

Ultimately, based on your knowledge of the afterlife, you need to ask yourself, "Do I believe she is not okay". If you do, I would council you to make another visit to the Temple and Pray and Meditate on this for a while.

Furthermore, don't concentrate on recieveing this revelation only through a dream. You might completely miss the message given by a much better and more special means.

Well I don't know for a fact. I'm not your mother and I'm not God, But I think your Mother has not visited you because she already knows that you know she is ok. I don't know your family so I don't if your mother was a member or not, but if your family has a chance to an eternal family. You could do your mothers work and hope that she would except it. Sorry to hear about your mother.Good Luck with your hardships and Congrats on going through the Temple.

There is no real explanation why your mother hasn't appeared in a dream for you. But she is in the spirit world learning more about the Gospel and progressing, confident that you are doing well.

The spirit world is not that far from us, according to Brigham Young, and the departed may be able to watch over us at times. They have moved on, just as we will one day, and will continue to progress provided the sins are not of a magnitude to prevent such progression.

If your mother had been temple worthy in mortality then she is doing fine--that much I can guarantee you.

Dear Anti M,
Please accept my sympathy, even with faith it's hard to lose your mother. Be brave and strong.
How blest you are to have loved and been loved. I have no idea why she hasn't visited you BUT I would suggest that it might be because you don't need her to visit to know she is okay. Now that you and your husband have been to the Temple be sure "the work" has been done for her and your family. What better gift could you give her and your self and your children.

She is busy!! She is learning. In the spirit world you are either learning or teaching. One year to the day you can take her name to the temple, as I did for my Mom. It will be beautiful and something you will always remember. I knew my Mom was ready for her work to be done because she came to me in a dream. How cool is that? I had been a member for 2 1/2 years at that point.

I am sorry for your lose.

Sometimes a dream is not the best way to have a spiritual experience. Ponder and pray. Attend the temple. You may have a wide awake reassurance from her.

First of all, I wish to send my condolences to you and your family. It's not a matter of why your mother hasn't visited you in your dreams. It's a matter of remembering her through memories, conversations, and pictures. If this helps, dream of her and I can assure you that she will let you know that she is happy and well. Also, pray to Heavenly Father and ask him if your mother is ok. He will comfort you as he comforts us all in times of mourning for a loved one that's been lost.
