I'm assuming this is for a religious research assignment. You might want to check out the "Book of Common Prayer" for some very well scripted supplications. It is used by a number of Protestant denominations, as well as some Catholic/Apostolic groups.

If you would rather present something UNUSUAL, then break out somebody's videotape of "Patton", starring George C. Scott. The scene where General Patton had a priest write a supplication to deal with the weather (and recites it) actually happened. Try introducing that in class!
