that we cant evolve unless we kill all the idiots (hence the darwin award) and anyone that has any major thinking problems

because evolution takes survival of the fittest, and if you arent smart enough to survive these days, you have all those people out there draging you around like they actually have to...

Many people use secular music at funerals now, but my father died in 1976. He requested that no organ music be played, and Sound of Silence was one of three songs he requested be played at his funeral. It was not a common practice, and turned heads at the visitation and the funeral. I have never heard any story for the inspiration of that song. I will also take a minute to apologize for missing answering all my contacts questions. I have been sick. Not to worry, but I am recovering slow. I miss all of you.

There was this poor, old farmer. Obviously, he didn't own the farm. It was on a lease. As he was poor, he had no money. One day, a traveller passed through the farm. Tired from his journey, the man knocked at the farmhouse and asked a glass of water. The farmer had no fresh, cold water at that time, but he had some fresh milk. The guest drank the milk, thanked his host, and went on his way. The farmer never heard from him again for a long time, until one day, his wife got sick. The hospital bill was high, and so, they couldn't pay. Then, they were told that the wife could now go home. Surprised, the farmer looked at the bill. On the bottom was written: "Paid in full by the glass of milk." Amazing, isn't it? That was a true story. I heard that from my sister who read it somewhere else.

So where is the massive opposition to DIVORCE ?

Christians are not allowed to divorce unless there has been infidelity (NEW TESTAMENT), so where is the outcry against Divorce like there is for homosexuality ???

Where is the outcry against adultery and fornication ????

All sins are equal or just cherry picking as per the desires ???

In a choir down home we practised in a place quite near a railroad yard. Those were the days of steam and coal. The sound of the whistles would break our rehearsals, shaking the building. To deny them would mean we'd start on discordant notes, often sharp or flat and with rhythms set by the cadence of the competing trains. To block this out our choirmaster would stop, have us match the pitch, tone, and tempo, and then cut us off to begin a new work The notes did not linger in our repertoire , but the soul lingered in our prise winning interpretation. How does distraction aid or form your meditation?

I have always heard it's the heart of the Quran, and it has many benefits for reading it (besides the obvious, that it's very rewarding to read any surah from the Quran) I heard it has many medical benefits as well... can you please tell me some, or some hadiths relating to this.. or some websites..

Thanks and Asalamu-Alaikum

Who wrote the JW bible?
I have one, it doesn't seem so different from the KJV but the truth is that I've never taken the time to read both of them at the same, but I've heard that the JW's has been added and deleted things of the KJB.
My JW aunt said that in the Bible (she duuuh! has the JW version) says that Jehovah Witnesses is the name of God's selected people. Where is it? is it in the King James Version too?
Why don't they use the King James version too like all other Christians?

PS: For those who are not JWs, no bashing allowed... let's all be tolerant ^_^

I've been told this by a few Christians. To have faith, you must discard reason. You must BELIEVE. To me, that's like believing you can fly, without ever really flying.

wear any type of religious jewellery?

If so, what do you wear, and why?

Do you feel differently when you wear it, than when you don't?

I'm Jewish and I sometimes wear a silver necklace which spells my name in Hebrew.

Many thanks for your answers.

Colin Macrae and three others killed in a helicopter crash, 88 people dead after Thai plane crash, five children critically injured in crash............... Is it just me or is that a lot to take in for a weekend? Do you ever wonder if God could just have a rest for a while and let the natural order of things just take its' course? No accidents or tragedies, just for a while.
If, but, why.............. I guess we could be here all day. Surely I can't be the only one who feels like this?

The idea of god gives us a reason for being.

People look for different reasons, so there are different gods.(As a result of different personalities; i.e. materialistic, naturalistic, whatever)

At this point, god can not be proven nor disproven.

So each idea of who/what god is, has equal evidence and merit( which is none; in my opinion).

Therfore, disputing over religion at this point in time, results in circular debates, with no concrete conclusions.

Are any of these premises completely false?

God does exist for you or not?

1. One man and one woman begat the entire human race (but their kids didn't commit incest). They were naughty for seeking knowledge when an invisible being (who created them) had tempted them with the knowledge, but told them it was wrong to have it. Since these two people were naughty, everyone else who ever followed them is naughty by implication.

2. An invisible being in the sky told a man who had no previous experience as a naval archietect to build the world's largest boat and collect two of every animal (including hundreds of thousands of species that were in places he didn't even know existed). The invisible made inundated the world and it was only the old man who saved everything from oblivion.

3. Some other old guy, a leader of his people, talked to go and split a giant body of water in two so that people could walk across without getting wet.

Prominent creation scientist Em Adjineri has said that the theory of evolution claims to be able to explain why things are the way they are. Well, if evolution is so smart, then how do evolutionists explain the flow of time?

If evolution were true, then time would have evolved to be the way it because it was advantageous to time's survival. But time can only move in one direction! How can time avoid predators if it can only move in one direction?

Obviously, if evolution were true time would have evolved to move in more than one direction in order to escape predators like Langoliers, which eat lost time. Since time hasn't evolved to move in more than one direction, evolution is false.

Take that, temporalutionists!
