wear any type of religious jewellery?

If so, what do you wear, and why?

Do you feel differently when you wear it, than when you don't?

I'm Jewish and I sometimes wear a silver necklace which spells my name in Hebrew.

Many thanks for your answers.

I wear my cross....I don't really feel any different, I just wear it as a sign of identity and to always remind myself that Jesus died on the cross to save us and that God is always with us.

Sometimes I do. If I'm dressing up, I'll wear this silver necklace with a small silver Star of David on it that I bought in Israel...other days, I'll wear this red and gold bracelet that has a Magen David charm on it, that's just when I feel like it...

It doesn't make me feel really DIFFERENT...just pretty lol. I guess it makes me more aware of how I present myself because now everyone can see what I am, and I feel like I'm being watched more closely...but you know how that goes. Bubbe always used to say "wash your neck!! What, do you want them to think all Jews are filthy?" I feel more elegant when I'm wearing it.

Peace, shana tova u'metukah

i'm a christian and from time to time i wear a cross or a symbol, but to be honest, i think it's just a piece of metal that, while it does have meaning generally , it does not have a meaning within the piece itself . I dont need to wear it and it in itself has no power.

I feel no differently really, and would wear as an ornament. I think our beliefs are in our hearts and minds, but if a symbol has meaning to the individual then that's fine, it's an individual thing so long as we don't believe the power is in the piece of jewellery.

I wear a silver cross every day, I've been wearing it since I got christened when I was eleven (about eight years ago). I don't know why, it's pretty bad I guess that I wear something to symbolise how Jesus died - we need a new symbol! But I fiddle with it when I'm feeling uncomfortable and if I'm not wearing it I have a mini freak until I remember where it is.
Don't you just love Hebrew? Gods name in Hebrew is Ehyeh Asher Ehyer apparently - means 'I am' it sounds beautiful doesn't it?

I'm a Christian and wear a cross on a chain, but I must confess, I was given it by my husband before I became a Christian, so it didn't mean the same then as it does now. I would never take it off for a job unless for health and safety reasons.

L'Shanah Tovah.

Be very careful - have you checked your Ivrit necklace in the mirror?

There's a few jewellery manufacturers in Israel with a weird sense of humour. They write your name in such a way that it spells something naughty in English when looking at it in the mirror.

I saw a guy in Eilat wearing a similar tea shirt. He was standing outside a shop looking in the window and couldn't understand why people standing next to him, also looking in the window, were laughing!

Good luck next Saturday. (Yom Kipur)

No I don't wear any jewelry at all except for a watch and a Medic Alert bracelet. It is because of my religion, so I do agree with the other poster that said that all attention belongs to Him, not me.

I wear a Magen Dovid necklace at times and always wear a yarmulke (I colllect them so have many) and tzit tzit. I feel no different with the necklace or without it but I do feel strange when in the shower or swimming and do not have a yarmulke or tzit tzit on. I feel totally naked if I do not have tefillin on when I daven. I feel less intune to my Judaism and my connection with Jews everywhere.

I have several small Star-of-David pendants and a larger pendant with the Sh'ma in Hebrew. They don't make me feel any different, but I like to be greeted by other Jews. It's always a nice surprise to hear "shalom."
