Is this perhaps the greatest legacy of God's six-day creation binge?

You think maybe he ever wonders what he was thinking?

I read parts and pieces of the Bible and it sounds like someone just wrote it one day, in hope of controlling the people around them. And Im not talking about God writing it or anyone like that. Im just talkng about some wannabe dictator decided the best way to control people is to write a book and preach about a higher power, in order to control. To me the Bible seems more like a form of Government than anything. Im not trying to pick agruments or anything. I would just like to hear what you think. Maybe Im wrong, maybe Im not. Who really knows whose right or wrong when it comes to God and Religion? When you answer try not to bring down anyone elses beliefs please. Thanks

And he will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren (Genesis 16:12)

Was this spoken only of Ishmael or all his descendants too ?

think it is the rapture and you got left behind? I do. Infact I kept hearing planes a lot this morning and thought it was the rapture and got left behind. I am so paraniod. Do you get like this too with the rapture? Maybe it is a reminder for me to get right with God before the rapture.

The Amish town in Pennsylvania where six girls were killed in a school shooting last year, was awarded 11.3 million dollars. That same Amish community then turned around and gave the shooters wife millions of dollars to help her because she no longer had a husband to help pay the bills. Could you do something like this? I personally, hope that I would be able to do the same thing.

I have a friend who converted to Catholicism who studied theology and began to explain why catholics do what they do. I have to say Catholicism is realy beautiful now I want to kiss the popes ring!!! But how does Mary fit into the picture is it because she was the first to encounter God face to face or was touched by Jesus and the Holy Spirit and so they honor her? Catholics only please I am already a Protestant and I want to know what the rest of the body believes. I love Catholics now I get the picture. The other thing is I have done more than three miracles and am a virgin so how do I get declared a saint? I want to be touched by the catholic church so I can share the power of Christs touch with the protestants so they can be empowered too!

The Holy Spirit
With the ascension of Christ we have the arrival of the Holy Spirit (John 14:26; Acts 2) who ministers to the Church through the mediation of Christ (1 Tim. 2:5) and the Scriptures.
He is fully God; He is not a force. He is the third person of the Trinity.
He has a will - 1 Cor. 2:11
He speaks - Acts 13:2
He loves - Rom. 15:30
He can be grieved - Eph. 4:30
He convicts of sin - John 16:8
He creates - Gen. 1:2; Job 33:4
He gives gifts - 1 Cor. 12:8
He Intercedes - Rom. 8:26
He teaches - John 14:26
He testifies of Jesus - John 15:26
He baptizes - 1 Cor. 12:13
He guides - John 16:13
He encourages - Acts 9:31
He empowers - Micah 3:8
He gives joy - Rom. 14:17
He comforts - John 14:16-26
The Holy Spirit indwells the believer (Rom. 8:11) and continues to work in him to bring about sanctification (Rom. 15:16).
The Holy Spirit illuminates the mind of the believer (1 Cor. 2:12,13) and reveals to Him the things of God (1 Cor. 2:10,13; 1 John 2:27).

In light of my last two questions, I'm apparently Agnostic (I hate that concept). Now. I've been informed, much to my disbelief, that there are people who say there is absolutely no possibility of any god. Be they ones we've heard of or not. Now, I know you can't prove a negative, that was basically the basis of my last questions. But tell me, if you are certain there is no god: why? How do you know that? I don't believe in the existance of ANY gods that I've heard of: Christ is bull, Allah is bull. Zeus is bull. None of the gods I've ever heard of had made sense, so I say none of the current gods exist. I thought that made me atheist, but apparently not. Now tell me, what is your basis for believing there is NO god. You have to have some kind of reason for thinking that. Man I can't word things tonight...read my last two questions to understand this one better. I'm asking this for no other reason, than...I don't like being considered agnistic. Agnostics just seem like atheists.

My name is really Bertha Nyguen. But I was thinking of changing it to Fireball Nyguen. I am also leaning toward the Scientologists, since, if I need an operation later, they can do it with those juices cans and string, It sounds smart.. and kind of kinky.

if a guy came back from the dead(let's say your uncle) and said something like "woah, believe in Jesus or you'll end up in Hell like me, and Hell sucks", would you believe him and/or heed his warning?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the only reason I ask is because I seem to recall a passage from the bible where a similar situation happened(a guy wanted to warn his living relatives about Hell) and the prophet said something like "they have the writings of the prophets, if they don't believe that, they won't believe you"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

anyway, the bible reference is somewhat irrelevant, i just wanted to know what you would do.

Why are Christians always the target of antagonistic posts? I don't care what you say, I have been watching the questions here for quite a long time, and at least over 90% of anti-rligious questions are aimed at Christians. Why is that? If you think that God is a fairy tale and religion is bad, then why don't you include Jews, Muslims, or Hindus in this question? Well, I know one big reason why: Because Institutions of Higher Learning (what a joke!) have systematically attacked Christianity and indoctrinated their minds-full-of-mush students into believing this garbage. Most of you attackers come out of a post-christian cultural situation in which blaming Christiasnity for everything is acceptable and politically correct.

Please explain the origin of life. How does non-living material assemble itself into living matter? Does this happen often? What is the probability of linking together in the right sequence just one hundred amino acids to create one protein molecule by chance? Then you have to bring together by chance a collection of protein molecules--maybe two hundred of them--with just the right functions to get a typical living cell.

There are some misconceptions about what it means to be a Christian on a day to day basis. Being a Christian doesn't mean one renounces their humanity. Some people have expectations of Christians based on an idealization: namely - the life of Jesus Christ. Jesus is our example to strive for, but there is only one Christ, and no Christian is perfect.

We are no holier than anyone else and just as human as everyone. We make mistakes and have regrets just like everyone. We laugh, tell jokes, have a sense of humour, and even have our sensual sides, enjoying the physical pleasures with our spouses--we view it as a gift from God. We also try to learn from our mistakes and appreciate that we can learn from others, including others of different beliefs. Personally, I enjoy the respectful sharing that comes from interaction with others.

Please consider then, what is the accurate perception of a Christian and if you think I am correct in my statements. :)
