Well, we all know about the Pope and the Ayatollah. But what about other religions?

I was reading an Anti-women web sight. They claim to be only anti-feminist, at the same time claiming to be Christian / Religious men. If you Actually take the time to read what they are saying it will make you want to vomit. (I am NOT a feminist, I believe in old school way, yet it still made me sick).
The fact that they are aloud to degrade ALL American women with out being shut down is seriously disgusting. They have encouraged Violence, and so much, it really is horrible. Take some time to read some of what they say.

I pray God’s will be done.

My questions have been geared toward this web sight, and I will continue to post questions for view points.

thank you to every one who has been following my questions today. and a special thank you to BigMamma, because you never forget to answer my questions.

Do you think morals and religion are the same thing? That a person can't have good morals unless he/she is a follower of a certain religion?
I know there is no conclusive answer for this..I just want to listen to random different opinions and try to understand what are they based upon. Thank you.
(P.S. Please oh please don't refer to excripts from Holy books - I am seeking what you understand, not what you memorise.)

It would be a sin for me to not include this data. The fourth LOVE type has to do with family. I remember it being a certain thing... but as we age we forget things. So... rather than be wrong... I ask the world. Be careful (evil one) you can't touch this.

I want to know why people think that Christians and Catholics are the same when there are many differences. Some that I know of are how Christians confess their sins to God while Catholics confess to priests. Catholics worship Mary more than Jesus. Christians follow scriptures in the bible and Catholics follow traditions. The majority of Christian teens listen to Christian rock and hip hop as well as mainstream music while Catholics listen to mainstream only. Catholics have shirts with Mary on the back. Catholic school girls are known to be bad girls while Christian girls are good girls. Catholic teens think there's no point in going to church and hate it while Christians love God more than anything. Catholics say "God" and "Jesus" and all the substitute words for God in vain while Christians don't or try not to. Catholics curse more. Christians wait until marriage for sex (or at least try to) while Catholics don't care that it's a sin. Christians are more forgiving. Similar? IDTS!

Does being a catholic mean that you can do what you want, then when you go to confession God, completely forgives you?

Do you need to be "born again"?

How do you become a catholic?

I'm really ill informed on this sect of christianity, but it looks interesting.

I had a conversation with a guy who was interested in me and I in him. While we were talking about the Bible and other things pertaining to Christanity (we are bot Christians) he told me that he as a man needed to be the head of his household and didn't want a wife who knew more about God's word than he did (he's a minister), I knew he was hinting at me. I do know a lot about the word of God, because I choose to. I know that the man is the head of the household after God, and would never try to usurp a man's authority as long as he is not abusing his position as head of household. Do you think he was threatened, and if so why? Wouldn't you guys want a woman who was godly and knew God's word? Seems to me a wife like that would be beneficial. Tell me, what are you guys wanting, not that I'm going to change. I'm just interested in knowing.

I used to be an atheist before but thankfully not now, 100 % believer now and the atheists here that have not converted yet are only here for one reason, to learn more about God because they are fence sitters still not sure if they want to jump in. REAL atheists like I used to be would never hang out in a place such as this that is full of religion. in their questions and answers they will deny it but that is only so their friends that see their questions an answers will not make fun of them.they will put up a very strong anti-God front but a front is all it really is.....100 % here are secretly fence sitters,..no true atheists here....not even one.....not even you....are any of you willing to admit to it in front of your atheist friends yet ?

Does the bible state that God is only good [benevolent] and without wrath [malevolent]?

If so, please share the verse.

Benevolence is not equal to being 'just' is it?

In the 10 commandments, there is Thou shalt not commit adultery, but no commandment pertaining to rape, the closest only being the commandments not to commit adultery and not to desire another man's wife.

When something bad happens (the holocaust, 9/11, e.t.c.), people tend to ask "Why did God allow this to happen? But according to the book of Genisis, man achieved free will when Adam and Eve ate fruit from the tree of life. ln essence, man has been granted free will, and therefore God esentially has no control over people's actions. All God can do is put people on earth and hope that they will make the right decisions. If they choose to make bad decisions there is nothing God can do. People on earth must choose to make the right decisions in order to achieve eternal life in heaven. Only there can God sanctify all the suffering that they have had to endure while on earth. And in heaven they will also be free of the oppressors who tormented them on earth. So when something bad happens it is not because God "allowed" it to happen. It is because some of the people he has placed on earth have simply chosen to abuse their free will.

This is an attachment on my last question.
My boyfriend is taking me to his Church, and he is Catholic. I was wondering about things like what I should and shouldn’t do.
Here, I will explain my situation. I am a protestant, and am planning on staying one. I wanted to go to his Church to see what it is like, not to join.
Do I have to do the thing where they make the cross on their chest? Or should I not do that because that is not part of my religion? Are there things like that that I am expected to do? And are there things that I am not allowed, or not supposed to do? Like communion for example. I don't think that I am allowed to do that, I think I just go up and get a blessing.
Thanks so much.

I just have a few serious questions, and would like some honest, reasonable answers (without the usual "believers in God are dumb as a bag of hammers" answers, please.)

1-Do you believe the world would be better of without religion? Why?
2-Do you think all organized religions should be monitored by the government and be restricted only to activities that don't involve evangelism or prosletyzing? Why?
3-Do you think atheism is the only hope for mankind? Why?
4-What do you think is the greatest harm religion has ever done to mankind?
5-Would you ever concede that some religious organizations have been good for mankind? Why not?

I'm asking because I'm curious. Thanks for answering.

If Jesus Christ was not who he said he was, and who his followers thought him to be, and if there is no God, then surely humankind would have got over it by now. By now we would have faced the facts and given up on religion and spirituality.

But we have not.

Why?

Because there is clearly something to it. There is truth it in. Within our faith traditions there are Revelations from a higher power.
